Details matter. I once had a professor that gave an assignment to write a report using references with footnotes. A fellow student had buried in one of her footnotes the phrase āIf you read this I will buy you a steak dinner.ā Upon grading and handing back the papers the Professor made no comment but when the class was over, he noted in passing that Ms X owed him a steak dinner. We ALL learned from that experience.
