Perry: Trump’s Mexico ‘Rapist’ Remarks Don’t ‘Reflect’ The GOP.

“I think the Republican party is reflected in people like me.”

“It’s reflected in individuals like Eva Guzman.”

“It’s reflected in people like….um, who’s the third one there? Let’s see…The third person the Republican party is reflected in…me, uh, Eva and, let’s see…the third one. I can’t. Sorry. Oops.”

And just 10 months ago Perry said this:

Illegal immigrants have committed 3,000 homicides

Q: Your take on the border crisis?

PERRY: What we are concerned about are the 80%-plus of individuals who don’t get talked about enough that are coming into the US illegally, and committing substantial crimes. Since 2008, we have seen 203,000 individuals who have illegally come into Texas, booked into Texas county jails. And these individuals are responsible for over 3,000 homicides and almost 8,000 sexual assaults. That’s the reason that we are deploying 1,000 National Guard troops, to try to make communities safer, and that is my goal.

Q: Governor, a number of fact-checkers have said that that 3,000-homicide figure is wildly off.

PERRY: Let me go back to those numbers. I do stand by them, by the way, but what are the number of homicides that are acceptable to those individuals? How many sexual assaults do we have to have before Washington DC acts to keep our citizens safe? That border is not secure. It’s time for us to secure that border.

Trump’s remarks don’t “reflect” the GOP…except for where Trump saw a huge jump in the GOP polls after making said remarks.

Yes they do Gov Goodglasses. Trump (R-$$) said it, your party owns it. He even triple downed on his statements.

I think the Republican party is reflected in people like me

That doesn’t make things any better now, does it?

“It’s reflected in individuals like Eva Guzman, who is the first Latina that (sic) was appointed to the Texas Supreme Court.”

Word of advice from someone who lives in Houston: If you include a (sic) every time Gov. Goodhair makes a grammatical error, you increase your typing by 13.784 %.

The name of the Perry family ranch does, however, reflect the Republican party:

Graham (who knows Iranians are liars because he worked in a bar and, I guess, met a couple there . . . but is there a great deal of truth-telling in bars to begin with?) doesn’t have much room to talk here.

This is the kind of defense of the GOP that should come from someone less known than these racist, sexist crackers.

Classic.

You can look through the edge of those glasses and they don’t bend any light at all! I hope he didn’t pay too much for that doctor visit.

Someone about 6 months ago here on TPM did a side by side of politicos and their glasses… Perry’s had no distortion whatever. They’re just for looks. Now if he had my set of progressive (ahem) lenses…

My take is a little snarky: bi-fecals is fer them what cain’t see shit.

Trumps losing support among golf organizations, and if they’ve ever weighed in on anything remotely political I don’t remember it.

"I think the Republican party is reflected in people like me. "

Which is strange coming from a man, who, when discussing any issue of importance, shows no evidence of reflection whatsoever.

I was waiting for this. Perry is far from bright but he knows Texas a bunch more than Trump does. There is ZERO change for a GOP’er prez candidate if he or she loses Texas. The other big boys, California and New York are in the Democrats hands. The GOP’er has to have Texas which has a near 50 % Latino population. Virtually all of Mexican heritage.

Trump is a very stupid man.
