These “pokes in the eye” to Trump’s policies give me (at least some) hope that genuine American values will survive this administration.
Would those values be the indiscriminate drone bombings of Afghan wedding parties, or the indefinite detention without benefit of charges or a trial by those imprisoned at GITMO?

Good! Trump’s attempt to ban Trans people from military was a disgraceful and insulting decision, even for those of us not wanting to serve in the military. Glad that the Courts have (so far) blocked his stupid policy. Once Trans people are serving openly without the universe caving in on itself, it will make it even more unlikely that Trump’s policy will ever actually be implemented/enforced by the Courts.

I’d prefer to be far more confident than what evidence warrants, in the Pentagon’s ironclad commitment to a military free of sexual harassment and gender discrimination.
I do believe that over half of transphobia amounts to pigs 
who feel entitled to reach down and grab a handful, fearful of grasping a fuller handful than they bargained for. It almost comes across like outrage at being deceived.
Men who are not pigs, who do not feel entitled to pull a Rose or a Weinstein, are far less likely to have this irrational fear. But when the Commander in Chief badly fails this easy test himself, what do we expect I guess?
