Porous Reasoning Used to Send Troops to Invisible Wall to Defend Border from People Eager to Flee One Despot to Another.

An inevitable mad act. Burgeoning fascism comes with crazy theatre. Pain and suffering for the innocent and powerless is guaranteed, but many in positions of privilege will love it.

The GOP is sending 5,200 troops to reinforce the Border Patrol in order to defend the US from 3,000 migrants.

And they call us snowflakes…

Need to add a “Don’t” in front of “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.” on the Statue of Liberty.

White guy sends bombs to a bunch of politicians.

White guy shoots up a Synagogue.

To defend ourselves from terror, need to get to the borders to keep the unarmed brown folk from cleaning our toilets, picking our fruit and mowing our lawns!

Why is TPM using the language the GOP wants you to use? I was under the impression these people where fleeing violence and coming here to seek asylum? That would make them “Asylum seekers” not ‘migrants coming to take jobs and leave’ as the right-wing is trying to paint them.

This story should be “Pentagon sends troops to stop asylum seekers”! Liberals MUST stop letting the right-wing define every damn debate!

the additional troops would provide logistical and other support to the Border Patrol and bolster the efforts of the approximately 2,000 National Guard forces already there. That includes functions such as air support and equipment, including vehicles and tents.

In short, 5,200 people are going to sit with their thumbs up their asses while the U. S. Border Patrol does their job.

Brought to you by the party of fiscal responsibility.

Not really. To be fair, they’ll be covering down on current vacancies in the Border Patrol.

Budgetary-wise, though, it has an impact. An increase in Defense expenditures vice DHS. Except for the National Guard folks, whom I believe were all activated by their governors, so their money is coming out of the State budgets.

So do we have our military start anilliating these invaders using drones, fighter planes, cruise missles, etc., before they cross the Mexico-US border, if so do we need the permision of the Mexican government or are we planning to have our military invade a neighboring country as an act of war? If the plan is to let these invaders cross into the US and then begin shooting and killing them, will we first have the White House counsel issue a legal opinin that such an act will not violate the Geneva Convention? Will your President first ask Congress for a declaration of war? The devil is always in the details.

See: Poland, 1 September 1939. It was only Poland’s aggression and unprovoked attack on the poor Nazis that morning which led Hitler to have to have his folks respond in force.

Maybe we’ll wake up on the morning of 6 November to find that some “Mexicans” have attacked our troops, and we’ll have to rally around the flag as we pursue them into Mexico…

From the West Wing:
"With the clothes on their backs, they came through a storm. And the ones that didn’t die want a better life. And they want it here. Talk about impressive.”

Yes, impressive. And to think that as a country, most of us would have agreed with that sentiment.

Can anyone, in their wildest imagination think of Trump saying something like that?

No doubt the Pentagon at donnie bonespurs behest will create a new campaign ribbon for our gallant troops serving in this military operation. It will be green with red stripes and known as the “Pepe”.

Speaking of the Border Patrol…

Trump White House and administration officials are furious that the union representing a key Trump constituency — Border Patrol agents — endorsed three Senate Democrats.

It’s an “egregious” action on “the existential issue of this election,” one White House official told POLITICO.

The existential issue of this election.

Remember that going forward.

So what are these troops going to do for the next month while these people walk the thousand miles up here?

It will cease to be an issue after next Tuesday.

It’ll only take 1 Holy Ghost to keep Trumpers out of heaven.

Yes it will.

To convince on the fence voters that the president is keeping his promises. Specific methods and procedures will be described at a later point, once they make them up.
