I also did not want to put my staff through the rigors of an Ethics Committee investigation

(kisses fingers)

Crooked is as crooked does…

Any chance of flipping this one?

Are similar scandals happening to Democrats and just not being reported, or is the party of family values seeking to radically redefine “family”…and “values”…?

Yeah, the Dems exorcised one of their leading candidates for 2020…

What a sport.

That makes 19 GOP cocksuckers retiring, 10 running for another office and six outright quitting for a total of 35. (I may have missed some.)

New definition of “severance” - bang (maybe just sexually harass, but probably bang) a staff member, pay her off with taxpayer $$$.

Yet another stalwart Repuglican bites the dust under the shadow of scandal. But we all know that the GOP is only made up of the best people, . . . .right?

"While I do believe I would be exonerated of any wrongdoing…:"

Ummm…Yeah. You didn’t do shit.

First it was:
“I’m resigning to spend more time with my family”

then it was:

“I look forward to addressing these charges in court.”

Now it’s this one.

This may be a possible pickup, if Tenn. Democrats can choose a good candidate. If I’m remembering correctly, his district bounderies were ruled unconstitutional.

Which is probably why he’s running aw–I mean, resigning.

Many. This was the Goofy kicking Donald Duck district. Gerrymandering or no, I still think this would be a close one this fall.

A race is already underway for Meehan’s open seat in the Philadelphia suburbs, which became much more favorable to Democrats after the state Supreme Court imposed a new congressional map. Inside Elections with Nathan L. Gonzales rates the race Likely Democratic.

“While I do believe I would be exonerated of any wrongdoing, I also did not want to put my staff through the rigors of an Ethics Committee investigation and believed it was best for them to have a head start on new employment to be unemployed rather than being caught up in an inquiry.”

FIFY!

So he doesn’t want to put his staff through the rigors of an investigation. But he’s OK with telling them all that tonight is their last paycheck for the foreseeable future. Interesting set of priorities.

You use “cocksuckers” as if it’s a bad thing.

Regarding cocksuckers, how do you know that these values-driven GOPers aren’t smokin’ the pole when the demands of trampling the poor are not the most pressing issue?

Too many R’s in denial about their own urges if you get what I mean…

Here’s looking forward to many R Congress critters’ staffs being unemployed after November.
