Discussion: Penn. Woman Murdered By Abusive Husband After He Was Released On Bond

Yet another reason why bail based on money bond is not terribly useful except as a means of making life harder for poorer people. And no one bothered to check up on the no-contact even a little?

So…we can ‘listen’ to another Trump ‘immigrants are murdering our citizens’ speech but we can’t do anything about the murderers in OUR country that are let out because…freeeeeeeedooooommm? Yeah…

This is a way too familiar story. It wasn’t just a he-said, she-said here - there was plenty of physical evidence of extreme brutality and in my opinion a credible threat to her life when she escaped with the help of those credit union workers.

And yet, there he was, out on bond, with monitoring that means jack shit to someone who wants to control her at any cost to himself.

On another note, this time the headline was right on the nose. But the woman’s death isn’t mentioned until the third paragraph, after we had heard about the perpetrator’s life support, brain death, organ donation and autopsy. What the hell, AP?

Terrible situation for the woman, but with the passing of Mr. King, one less Drumpf voter in PA.

Well thanks Mommy. Thanks for rearing a piece of shit like that and then enabling him. It seems Mommy knew what he kid was capable of but did nothing to stop it. Did she call the Cop’s when her darling boy cut off that ankle bracelet right in front of her and hauled ass? I’ll bet she didn’t. She saw a gun and a man that had caused significant harm to others with weapons. But it was Junior! So hang up on the reporters Mommy.

I’m guessing Mommy was also a victim of domestic violence, which is probably where he learned the behavior and why he had no problem being violent with her. She may have learned it learned it from her from her mommy and daddy and the son learned it from his. That said, I’ll never really understand the mindset in which you don’t do everything you can to stop someone else from being a victim.

Why was this guy out on bond???

To put it bluntly, women in the thick of these situations rarely think rationally, by outside standards. Holding that against them is counterproductive, or nuts, take your pick.

Assuming the threat is gone now, I imagine the mom knows that she is culpable. But she may not have been thinking that way at the time.
