Discussion: Penn. GOP Files Federal Lawsuit To Allow Out-Of-County Poll Watchers

We all know what they really want. They want “us” to go monitor “them.”

Desperate much?

Maybe I’m just missing something, but how is the First Amendment involved? They are still free to say anything they want. They’re even free to say whatever they want in whatever county they want. They’re just not free to intimidate voters.

This reeks of desperation and old regret.

Peaceful transition of power.

“Hell no, we don’t know!”

This is a “let’s not and say we did” moment.

The GOP cannot afford to have Trumps thugs get them in further deep do with the federal gov. When the court ruling comes back NO, DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT OR YOU WILL SUFFER SANCTIONS FOR DECADES, they might be able to call off Trump’s dogs.

So the poll watchers are going to be watching for dead people.

Will they be, by any chance, Russians? I mean how far away can these counties be? (Seriously, the Russians are trying to get “monitors” here, but they have been refused entry.)

I suspect the reason Trump talks about certain neighborhoods and all that crap is because the wingnuttosphere has been screaming for years that there were districts in Philly where not one vote was cast for Romney, as if this self-evidently proves there was voter fraud. I don’t know if it was true or not but it would hardly be remarkable if it were. If you go to Philly you can see large areas from which any potential Romney voters self-deported themselves fifty years ago.

It’s hard to imagine these people prevailing in their suit, though. Philadelphia is a county as well as a city, and there are Republicans who live there, I assure you, and they can be poll watchers no problemo.

And they know who these dead people are, by sight, in spite of living in the far end of the state. There must be a visible sign. What could it be? Oh what does a dead voter look like to them?

It would be great for people to dress up like zombies when they go to vote but I suspect black skin will do the trick by itself.

No one has a “right” to be a poll watcher. A person must meet the qualifications, apply in a timely manner and be trained.

isn’t there something about a Federal injunction against Republican poll watchers due to previous bad behavior? or does that only apply in certain states?

“Filed on behalf of eight Keystone State voters, the suit alleges that state law restricting poll watchers to the county in which they’re registered violates the First Amendment and denies them their right to equal protection under the law.”

Great argument! I’m surprised they didn’t also invoke the Second Amendment, however.

“Clueless” doesn’t begin to cover it.

Nationwide consent decree. Supposed to expire next year, actions like this will see it extended.

The step 2 you missed. Make sure every voter who looks wrong knows you can defend you’re Second Amendment rights by displaying your loaded gun. If forced use your Second Amendment rights to stop “suspect” people from entering the voting booth
