Discussion: Pence Tries To Reassure Europeans On US Support For NATO, EU

Pence’s meetings were aimed at assuring European leaders that his words
reflected the views of Trump and would not easily be swept away at the
whim of the U.S. president or undermined by statements issued on
Twitter.

Does anything say unstable more than the above?

The Europeans are just as skeptical of Trump’s tactics and motives as all other sentient beings on the planet. No words from an empty suit like Pence or an easily replaced (YOU’RE FIRED!) Mattis, or any other Trump sycophant is going to diminish the anxiety felt by the entire world, who’s most powerful individual, with the capacity to kill us all many times over, is a stark raving lunatic with the intelligence of a child and a moral compass that is continuously re-magnetized by the closest ego-affirming proverbial pussy that Trump can grab… The United States will lose the confidence of it’s strongest allies (with the exception of Israel) and the Western alliance will become the play toy of Russian opportunists…

Clean up on aisle NATO. Clean up on aisle NATO.

Pence is turning into America’s mop and broom guy.

We know Pence is fourth or fifth in the pecking order and does not wield any authority.

But the fact Europeans were waiting for a US leader to make such a statement is a sign these are uncertain times. And it leaves a nagging feeling among Europeans that they can’t be sure President Trump will stick to the same script or differ in his next tweet or unscripted remark.
So for many Europeans the Trump administration remains unpredictable, unclear in its thinking, even divided on key issues.
And Europeans may well wait, putting more store by what a transactional president does, than by what is said. Mr Tusk made a point of telling Vice-President Pence that “Americans and Europeans must… practise what they preach.”

Being irresponsible dirty fucking hippies, we comment dwelling crazies are free to say what the MSM dares not say. This whole trip, with Pence, McLindsay, Mattis, and all the other Republicans who went wasn’t engineered by Trump to reassure the allies rattled by his treason. There’s not the slightest indication that Bannon/Miller approved of this or had input into it. Rather, this trip was engineered by an ad hoc Republican government-in-exile to assure our allies that they will be acting to the extent possible to thwart Trump’s betrayal and tell them what our policy will be once he’s removed or forced to resign.

And don’t think for a minute that the off the record chats and socializing that occurred at this conference wasn’t the occasion for a dump of intelligence data about Trump’s co-option by Putin from the intelligence agencies of alarmed allies. Mostly, I suspect, to McLindsay and to the Democratic members of Congress who attended, but possibly also to Mattis. I’d be shocked if they shared with Pence.

The lying-piece-of-shit Pence tells Europe not to believe anything said by the crazy fuck now occupying the White House.

Regardless of which group he’s trying to convince, I find it difficult to believe that anyone finds Pence strong, believable, assuring, or any other positive characteristic.

And then he dis’s the presss saying that they play loose and fast with “facts”. Oh yeah that helped…NOT

Just to have the Vice-president of the United States have to try to reassure them is not-so reassuring. Remember the last time that happened? Yeah, me neither.

But it must be working. That’s why upper-level European and NATO representatives have been meeting — without a US presence — to try to figure out what the hell to do about the US.

Pence might be a better president than Trump since he’s not being blackmailed by them, but he still might be a typical shitty Republican president.

Hey Pence, remember how you thought you were going to be in charge? The most powerful vice-president in history?

But now you’re just doing clean-up for President Bannon’s wave of destruction. Gee, that’s gotta suck, doesn’t it?
