And we wiLL be greaT, agaiN.
A sociopath farts.
“Right out of the box you’ll see the President-elect get out that pen and repeal every unconstitutional executive order that President Obama signed,” Pence told the audience.
You mean that person knows how to write? Maybe they’ll figure out a way for him to do it on his Twitter-machine.
I suppose a nut shell version of that speech would be “we are going to make things great for guys like you in this room and crappy for everyone else”. Did anyone ask him how he’s going “cut taxes across the board” and “increase defense spending” without borrowing from China which his buddy just pissed of earlier this week?
And another day older and deeper in debt.
The odd, and newsworthy thing here is that its the VP Elect laying out the closest thing to a policy/priorities speech…not the President Elect. Who still hasn’t given a press conference since July.
And before everyone starts pointing out that Trump said the VP was going to do all the day-day stuff (he did), remember that by abdicating these duties, he is surrendering the actual power of the Presidency.
He added that the administration would push to quickly repeal the Affordable Care Act "lock, stock and barrel," and that the “Obama era of weakening our national defenses is over,” according to The Hill.
And bankrupt two-thirds of all hospitals in the country, triggering millions of job losses in the process.
Republicans will wreck this country’s economy once again, as well as devastate our trade agreements, good or bad. The folks who voted for change because of their communities being devastated by “hillbilly heroin” and the like a re in for some severely harsh reality checks – many of those rural communities depend on government subsidies and “ObamaCare” dollars to stay afloat, offer 24/7 emergency care and many many stable, well-paying jobs.
Thank you, Michael Pence and Donald J. Trump – you will be (basically) killing off the idiots who voted for you, so next go-around they won’t be around to swing the election.
Also: Shorten the life span of American citizens through (1) reduced healthcare after destruction of ACA and Medicare, (2) hazardous air and water quality after severely cutting back entironmental laws and regs, (3) dangerous weather, floods, droughts, and other hazards that will increase with the combination of (a) stopping measures to counter climate change and (b) mining, drilling for, and using more fossil fuels and abandoning research and installation of renewable energy sources, (4) likely increases in terrorist attacks on civilians in the U.S. and abroad after more Trump provocations, (5) wars who-knows-where, (6) oh, hell, anybody with a brain can add several more causes of morbidity and mortality to my list.
Oh yeah Pence …isn’t he the disingenuous lying sack of shit guy?
He doesn’t want to be bothered with that crap. He wants the attention stuff, the public adulation. That’s why he’s on a Victory tour instead of working on his Administration and Policies.
BTW - I know you already know this but, i need to keep saying it, everywhere i can because it’s so annoying.
In a happier world, I’d get a chance to slap Pence until his teeth rattled.
What an asshole.
The new administration’s priorities can be boiled down to two sentences:
Help the rich.
Screw everyone else.
Well, maybe a third: Enrich Trump.
“We truly believe that our president-elect has secured a mandate for leadership,” Pence said, according to the Washington Post.
Of course they do.
Holy crap. All my wondering about what form the awful will take has suddenly vanished.
It’s going to be like a Bizarroworld replay of the Bush Administration. Callow, belligerent, incurious, petulent president, except this time a narcissistic game show host rather than a C+ Augustus. A vice president with actual government experience actually running things, at least for a while, except this time with religious mania and a much lower IQ. Oil companies defining energy policy, except this time with the whole world burning while they claim nothing’s wrong. Claiming a mandate despite losing, mindless tax cuts, rabid, reactionary rejection of every decent, sensible thing their two term, popular, intelligent Democratic predecessor did.
And, most worrisome of all, the seemingly bizarre, inexplicable insistence upon a military buildup no one in the military seems to want for reasons that are left carefully unexplained and unexamined by a press reduced, once again, to servile transcription. Except this time, with Frank Gaffney’s Center for Security Policy subbing for what we are now forced to concede is the comparatively high brow PNAC.
Bush II except with more psychotic clowns and fewer brains. What could possibly fucking go wrong?
Well that is implied in #1, but I wonder how long the adoration will last when “everyone else” gets tired of being screwed.
They have finagled their way to power on all fronts by playing a strategy that games the system all over. And it worked. How does that end, nonviolently? I can’t see how. In fact, I wonder if they crave a violent uprising so they can justify a military state. I woke up in a dark head this AM, I reckon.
I keep reading about how President Obama has supposedly weakened our military. Apparently, the only way our military can be strong is if we agree to spend an amount of money on it that is so large that no one can conceive of the number.
