But someone else reminded me of another Welch quote from that same exchange:

This is far worse that you suggest, especially the blaming Obama and Clinton. Here’s what was quoted in the article:

Pence deliberately blames the death of Captain Khan in 2004 – when Barack Obama was a state Senator with no national profile, who had not even given his speech to the Democratic National Convention – on Obama. George W. Bush was the President then, and it was the war he was prosecuting that led to the destabalization of the Middle East.
Even the Islamic State of Iraq started in 2007, before Obama was officially a presidential candidate.
This is nearly as libelous to Obama as Trump was to Captain Khan’s parents.
Here’s what Pence’s is now and will be, if Trump is elected!
Roger Stone is accusing Khan of being a terrorist (Muslim Brotherhood).
I guarantee that’s the sort of clarification Trump’s people will be putting out to counteract Pence.

And, Pence continued, as to Trump’s suggested reinstatement of torture, killing of innocent women and children, and proposed perpetration of war crimes, well, that is Obama’s and Clinton’s fault as well. If they had not sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution, we would not be in this mess. Donald Trump will not make that same mistake. He will read the Constitution within the first 100 days in office and decide which parts will make America great again. The rest were just put in there by crooked Hillary and the DNC.
