It looks like 228 seats for a 4 pt margin in the congressional vote. I guess it could have been worse…

It also looks like gerrymandering will still be a major factor in 2020…

I can’t wait to see the gavel in her hands again. I know, I know. She has to start grooming a successor. But for right now, I’m happy she’s back where she belongs.

And Ryan will be gone, which of course he would have been in any case. But seeing Jim Jordan step into his shoes would have been just as bad, if not worse. He won his district by upwards of 30 points.

She’s been in government a long time, she knows how it works, she knows how to speak, she’s not divisive, she’s calm, and thoughtful. I’ve totally forgotten how a normal personal in government can be.
Compare her press conference to Dumps and it’s clear what a real humanist politician looks like. I know she’s not perfect but by comparison she totally is.

The newly elected Native American woman to the House from New Mexico was interviewed by Ruhle and Velshi. She was asked if she would support Pelosi for Speaker, and she said yes, unequivocally.

So great that Native Americans are finally represented in Congress. Too long coming. There are two, correct?

It’s absolutely ridiculous here in Michigan. Here are the first ten Michigan state house districts:

77%
88%
97%
95%
94%
92%
98%
96%
95%
97%

All Democratic, of course. Meanwhile, the Republicans are winning their races by 55%, 56%, 57%, 62%, 60%, 65%, etc. It’s textbook gerrymandering.

Fortunately, Proposition 2 passed yesterday, which means we’ll be dismantling the gerrymandered districts soon.

Well, that’s some unfortunate phrasing. $10 we’ll be hearing it again when the Faux News addled crowd starts claiming she just admitted Dems had people committing voter fraud by voting outside their districts to overcome gerrymandering.

Yes indeed and we won in places that are traditional Republican districts. And yet Democrats get no credit for appealing to voters in those so-called red districts. Last night pundits lamented about what is now perceived as an urban, suburban and rural divide, and how regrettable that Dems don’t appeal or reach out to rural communities. I was gob smacked given the gerrymandering.I then remarked to Mr. Lefty that the question really should be why don’t Republicans appeal to or reach out to urban and suburban communities?

It is nonsensical.

Democrats won some gerrymandered districts, but "jump over gerrymandered lines all over the country” sounds like something Trump would say.

And did anybody listen to that clip? She is simply waving her hands as she wanders rhetorically all over the place.

Nancy Pelosi’s time has come and gone. We need new fresh Democratic leaders that can speak eloquently and clearly to today’s life and death issues.
