The fact that so-called Liberals think that the thoroughly-documented war criminal James Mattis was the “adult” in the Trump “Administration” should scare the living hell out of anyone with more than two brain cells…
I thought her statement was exactly what was needed. The democrats need to make clear that Trump is endangering the United States, and taking actions - for reasons unknown (which they will get to the bottom of with oversight) - that benifit Putin, and now it appears the Turkish President.
Republicans still have a slight edge in polls for national security, and Pelosi and Schumer (and better yet Shiff) need to make this a major issue that they highlight. Republicans are aiding and supporing a traitor, and that really is the most important issue for our future right now.
She is definitely positioning herself to be a major Trump critic. Excelsior!

That sounds like something the Internet research Agency would spread. Mattis served honorably in democratic (Clinton, Obama, Carter) and republican administrations. The miliary’s job is figuring out how to respond to violence, doing so in the way the works best for our national interest. You can chose to see the use of force as a “war crime” but I don’t think that in any way advances the ball. Mattis advocated for a higher troop commitment in Places, and we can discuss whether that was the appropriate approach, or we should have let Al Shabab, ISIS, and the Taliban take over the joints. I think the Obama’s dithering on Syria resulting in a flow of refugees to Europe was what triggered Brexit and then Trump. The reality is that when dangerous chaos spreads and causes refugees to flow into the west (something we are seeing in our neglect of central America and Trump’s support of authoritarians there) that feeds the raise of right wing populism.
There are people whose horrible policy decissions were based upon self interest (or a desire to let friends and business associates make $$$$), see Cheney, Dick, and I might use the term “war criminals” to apply to them. But Mattis is not Cheney, and has served honorably.
I would hope we could realize that Mattis has at every stage tried to do the right thing, as Trump tried to do the wrong thing to help out Putin. I think Joe Biden summarized it well:

Until there is World peace and ugly mean people like Trump,Putin and along list of others no longer exist,we need the military.
We also need those who speak out against the military just to keep watch.
Trump seems to surrounding himself with yellow draft dodging conservative war mongers.
This to me is a serious problem when you have cowards sending young people in harms way and don’t care.
“So-called liberals” is an almost ironclad signal that nothing to follow is of any real worth. I just stop reading at that point.
What a load of garbage! First, you have no idea “what I see”. It certainly is a hell of a lot more than simply using military force, and it is well documented. Second, labeling everything or everyone you don’t like as somehow being in league with Russia is just plain lazy.
