Disagree on this. What may help our chances in 2020 is someone who is experienced, savvy in political dirty tricks and really understands the caucus they’d be representing. What we don’t need is someone who’s young, inexperienced and doesn’t see problems coming up within the caucus.
You know, I understand that she’s comfortable being the Devil On The Left, but still, it seems to me it would be helpful if she would keep a lower profile for another two weeks.

While she is an excellent legislator and fund raiser, Cong. Pelosi is a rather mediocre retail politician. A good politician wouldn’t brag like this. Turnout is key and complacency needs to be combatted.

Absolutely agreed and also on Schiff (and perhaps Swallwell). I think he’s displayed some serious political “chops” when dealing with the Rethugs and knows how to navigate social media.
Don’t give the GOP any more cannon fodder and fear-stoking information than they already have.
I saw an ad for a candidate in Minnesota over the weekend where the ad had her photo just behind the candidate.
Why, Nancy, why? Just sit back and enjoy the next two weeks, because it may well be a tempestuous couple of years in front of you. Just say nothing. Don’t give the farm away.

My belief is Adam Schiff for Speaker or President.
Pelosi was going to retire when Clinton won but she didn’t. But let me ask this. Who’s the younger and dynamic leader you suggest replace her. Please do not say Alexandria Ocasio Cortez.
Schiff would be a good leader, but maybe he’s loyal enough to not want to have a fight break out in order to step up and challenge her. The fight would be in plain view of the Rs who’d salivate at a chance to trash the entire Democratic caucus.

Swalwell is on MSNBC often enough to make us think he’s got leadership chops. I don’t think he does. I think he wants to run in 2020 and MSNBC is happy to give him airtime.
