Discussion: Pelosi: Cantor Loss Means 2014 Is 'Whole New Ballgame'

I’m sure he ordered a few polls for himself at 7:24 last night. He doesn’t seem like he’d be any more of a district guy than Cantor.

That’s good!

Was that George Bush’s theme song?

Agreed. While taking the seat is by no means assured, it is a much easier proposition now that it was yesterday.

We need to support Jack Trammell and get out the vote…

Not much chance of that in southern VA. District is almost 60% R and turnout will continue to work against.

She is not one of them. Don’t forget that what did get passed got passed with democratic help

You are blaming the wrong people. When the dens con trolled congress they pass 300 bills that languished in the senate and the only bills that did get through got through only because the dems voted.

So, who you going to vote for. So you are one of those folks who throw away a vote? Nice going

Prof. David Brat’s victory was richly deserved. Eric Cantor was face and fist of Republican tyranny and oversaw the most incompetent and corrupt Congress in American history. Eric and his jack-booted thugs were trampling over the Constitution and trying to destroy American freedoms, liberties and jobs in exchange for kickbacks from corporations.

The primary win of axenophobic extremist pushes the “establishment” right even further.

I worry about giving more political legitimacy to that kind of rhetoric. I’m not so sure anymore it turns people off.

If this tees up Henserling to succeed Boehner, we are in real trouble. Henserling thinks we shouldn’t regulate the likes of AIG, who we just bailed out to the tune of $180 billion. Also no increase in the debt limit.

Oh, I dunno, anybody who is paying the least bit of attention is terrified of further strengthening the crazies.

meet the new boss.
same as the old boss.

At some point, doesn’t the average Republican have to think, “Is this really where I want this country to go?”

30,000 voters in Virginia is not an engaged electorate.

Yawn. IF you don’t know what the Democrats policies are by now, I 'm not going to waste my breath. A donut says you’re not an “independent” anyway.

I think they still have dirt roads where Brat is running. That’s the problem.

I see the impact of Cantor’s loss more in terms of budget policy than immigration. The Tea Party has been working to make a litmus test out of “willingness to tank the American and global economy to get our way,” and beating Cantor is a way to make progress toward that goal. Cantor’s defeat is also another example of Republican Parties going nuts in newly purple states like Virginia, Colorado, and North Carolina.

I was trying to convey respect for her and disdain for the GOP, hence the title Speaker. Sorry.

WITCH !!!

(hate having to add characters to make a simple denunciation)

Michigan voters made that mistake and voted for Snyder and we have gravel roads that used to be paved.
