It was the ALLIES in WWII
Even Stalin was on board.
Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Speaker.
Here endeth the lesson.
In the words of Assistant Principal Dick Vernon, if you mess with the bull, you get the horns.
Actions have consequences.
Some things we learn around the age of two or three. For others it’s a lifelong struggle to comprehend.
And it can, of course, not be about anything else than vengance, like say qualifications or industriousness ?
[S]He who defies the Queen will die!
Only those that have watched 90 day fiance this season will get that one…
Anyone that voted against Pelosi at this most dangerous of times was not paying attention to what she was capable of doing. Too bad, but sometimes it pays to go with the majority.
Not really, since stuff like this is one of the way that leaders can keep their people in line.
Really, is this simple vengeance, or is it a signal to Donnie? – “I’m tougher than you are. Surrender before you get hurt.”
Let’s just say it’s about judgment.
As we used to say back in New York, tough toenails Kathleen. You asked for it, you got it. Suck it up.
So I guess AOC isn’t really that ‘radical’ after all, in never seriously challenging Pelosi.
Over at Huffpost:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is poised to win a seat on the powerful House Financial Services Committee, in what would be a victory for progressives fighting to curb Wall Street’s clout in Washington and inside the Democratic Party itself.
The assignment, which lawmakers say they expect her to receive, would pit the 29-year-old New Yorker not only against banks that make up a major local industry but also potentially against business-friendly Democrats who have backed financial deregulation.
Maybe Rice can learn something. Maybe not.
Pelosi argued that New Yorkers were already well represented on the
panel, but Rice’s supporters countered that Florida has just as many
members in the committee.
Very weak argument. New Yorkers seem to have forgotten that Florida is the 3rd largest state. Rice’s complaint is that a state larger than New York gets one more seat on the committee. I agree Pelosi probably did this as punishment but Rice needs to come up with a better argument than ‘New York is special’.
In spite of the headline, if she wasn’t easily replaceable with equal or better candidates, she’d likely still be there.
Pelosi again demonstrates the wise and effective use of power.
All those who thought she was too old and senile … sit down, shut up and observe.
If it were qualifications, how did the dim bulb, Lou Correa, get selected? Certainly there are better qualified CA representatives.
I guess they don’t call it a whip count for nothing.
This is what real leadership looks like. Her style only seems heavy- handed here because it’s against the backdrop of Ryan’s decade of cowardice.
