Discussion: Pelosi Appoints Six Democrats To Panel Probing Planned Parenthood

Discussion for article #242532

I don’t recognize most of those names, but Bwa-ha-ha, Jerry Nadler is going to make those people regret ever starting this.

Being a stubborn Kraut, it isn’t very often I admit I’m wrong.

But I have to admit it nonetheless. I was originally for the Democrats boycotting the Benghazi! select committee, as well as this one.

However, having watched the hearing when Hillary testified, the better strategy is for the Democrats spend all of their time attacking the hearings and the Republicans on the committee rather than questioning the witnesses.

The combination of a cool customer like Cecile Richards calmly answer questions, and bull dogs like Nadler tearing the Republicans a new asshole will drive the Republicans crazy.

Turn it into a spectacle and a circus.

I will further add, that it is supreme irony and the height of hypocrisy that a party that constantly goes on about the evil, tyrannical federal government, is using the branch of the federal government that they control, to attempt to criminalize what is essentially a political disagreement, and terrorize their opponents. Talk about scary.

The panel will be chaired by Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee

I just threw up a little in my mouth.

The Dems appointed 5 women and 1 man.

The GOP War on Women will continue. And the GOP will continue to lose it.

Yes, but it almost couldn’t get any better. She’s like lighter fluid on the crazy. She’ll take this committee down faster than McCarthy took down Benghazi. She won’t be able to help herself.

Blackburn is certainly one of the dumbest people who have ever shown up on my TV. Her chief talent seems to be memorizing talking points and repeating them regardless of the question or the context. Unfortunately, that’s exactly the kind of person media producers love, so the Dems will just need a little strategy to knock her off her game.

Probing=Eliminate…right?

Moving along, I dig the mention of Nadler above. And Blackburn… spot on, AllieBean.

Her condition comes from REALLY growing up clueless–and without experiential modifiers.

“The panel will be chaired by Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee.”

The poor man’s Michele Bachmann.

Ouch.

“The panel will be chaired by Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee.”

That’s great news…for the Dems and PP. Blackburn is indelibly mindless. She’s a talking point automaton with an uneditable prime directive, making it unbelievable easy to use her utter inability to adapt her narrative to surprises or alterations in the factual landscape to highlight what a farce this entire investigation really is. Gowdy Doody actually has some chops…not much, but some…and he was easy to embarrass. Comparatively, this woman is a walking embarrassment bomb waiting to go off. I would like to imagine this winding up nothing but another backfiring disaster for the GOP/Teatrolls, but I will say this: if Dems pull their usual stodgy, “collegial”, non-attack un-messaging bullshit with this, then this will be an overall win for the GOP/Teatrolls…no matter how stupid they make themselves look…because they’ll have used it to rile their base while liberals yet again failed to counter by doing the same.

Well, the Dems took that old musty “kicking Ass” suit out of the closet for the Bengazi hearings, and it still fit pretty well. My guess would be that at least for a while, they’re going to keep it on.

The get along, go along, no-spine-to-speak-of gang, at it again.
Maybe the biggest “revelation” will be that Planned Parenthood had offices in Benghazi.
Someone pass me a bucket, quick.

How right you are, my friend.

At the end of the Benghazi Clinton Testimony (read: ReThugg Ass Whipping), Hillary was making the rounds shaking hands and making small talk with various onlookers. Following so close behind her that I initially suspected some sort of freakiness was Eddie Haskell (er, Gowdy), who was tailing her for what I am sure to him was an eternity. When Hillary turned, Gowdy shook hands and left.

Which was smart, even given the acrimonious exchange of words throughout the Proceedings. That takes “reality thinking” (however misguided).

Blackburn, in a similar situation, would not only not have shaken hands with Hillary, but wondered (maybe even aloud to reporters) why the situation would not have been in the reverse.

Cummings (and others) had the right size:

I am truly baffled why anyone would even begin to think Speier, Schakowsky, and Nadler won’t absolutely whoop ass on this committee. Speier is one of my great heroes in life. This is a woman who at 28 years old survived Jonestown after being shot FIVE TIMES by Jones’ men, she laid there for nearly 24 hours getting drunk on rum to survive.
She’s also HAD a second trimester abortion that she’s discussed publicly.

I’m sure this is just a Republican attempt to ensure that our Constitutional rights aren’t infringed. Sure, they’re going after “big abortion providers” now, but the next committee will likely go after “big gun manufacturers”, so it’s all OK, see?

The clown show of the Congressional hearings on PP may be entertaining, but don’t forget PP is under siege on dozens of fronts, including state and local levels.

Latest here in Arizona: Governor Doug Ducey’s hand-picked committee removed Planned Parenthood and the Clinton Foundation from the list of approved charitable organizations for state employees to contribute to via payroll deductions.

It doesn’t matter if the Congressional hearings crash and burn, if Planned Parenthood dies a death from a thousand smaller cuts. (Remember ACORN?)

My dog still barks every time she hears Marsha Blackburn’s (R-Comcast) voice. I guess I’ll read the transcript.
