Here we go again! When will we ever learn?

Lauren, good article----I can’t believe that you are up and writing at 5 a.m. after such a hard night! What a tiger!

I predict Republicans will no longer care about either the deficit nor the cost of healthcare. And foreign wars will be fine as will short sleeves on the First Lady.

When you say short sleeves, you mean only short sleeves, right?

Proof positive that conservatives don’t give a damn about the national debt, now at $19T: according to some estimates, Trump’s wall will cost up to $25B.

Proof positive that conservatives don’t give a damn about their “GOP family values”: they elected Trump the pussy-grabber, the guy who doesn’t pay his bills.

It has finally happened

“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

― H.L. Mencken

I see dark, very dark days ahead for the country I love.

“In Germany, they came first for the Communists, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist; And then they came for the trade unionists, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist; And then they came for the Jews, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew; And then . . . they came for me . . .”

Will Ryan even get to stay Speaker? Now that the GOP has learned white nationalism + voter suppression works, maybe they’ll want frothing racist like Steve King.

The Republican party created tRump.

The Republican party put tRump in office.

The Republican party handed tRump the nuclear codes.

The Republican party owns tRump, lock, stock and barrel.

Every single Republican is responsible for every single thing that tRump does.

Period.

Hold them all accountable, every minute of every day.

We know what kind of person Trump is. He is going to demand that Ryan be replaced.

I agree completely, but…none of it matters if so many people sit out every election cycle. Republicans wouldn’t have the power they do if every single eligible person voted. The country is mostly centrist…center-right or center-left, but still centrist. There are a lot more liberals than conservatives, and yet, we go through this bullshit almost every two years. It’s fucking insane.

Maybe… but it seems “we” are not who we think we are. Is it true that Hillary only got 60% of the Latino vote? That’s the election all by itself.
You could find other demographics where she underperformed, such as women.

Not in the remainder of my lifetime. If “we” ever do, I won’t be around to see it.

My best wishes to the children who come after me who have to grow up in this toxic sewer. I just lost 40 years of my life, and really don’t have that much more to give.

I disagree. Trump is agnostic on many “conservative” issues, and will give them a blank check for so much that they want. Ryan has every reason to celebrate.

As long as they slip a provision into the bill affirming that Our Supreme Overlord is a great guy, he’ll put his signature on anything.

From what I understand, turnout is going to be the real issue, and that Trump will win with fewer votes than Romney lost with. A mid-term electorate and not a presidential one. Comey ad Wikileaks did just what they intended…

Remember the story from about 10 days ago about Roger Stone’s people saying “we have 3 or 4 voter suppression operations running right now”?

Yeah. There you go.

I am so stealing that - after you stole it from Mr. Mencken.
