Discussion for article #226489

I think Paul Ryan may be suffering from a culture of intellectual laziness.

I eagerly await Ryan going to war with Murphy Brown.

What a pathetic schmuck Ryan is. A true Dan Quayle moment there Mr. Ryan.

Wow! This means Mr. Ryan probably also despises Bob Dole, Newt Gingrich, Henry Hyde, Franklin D Roosevelt, Bill Clinton, John McCain, Wilbur Mills, Bob Livingston, David Vitter, Ike Eisenhower, pre-Gov. Ronald Reagan, David Petraeus, and so on. Would that he might comment on these guys, too.

Oh, if only he’d watched that episode in season 2 that had the threesome between the Underwoods and the Secret Service guy.

Should we tell Ayn Ryan that “House of Cards” is fiction?

He seems to have missed that part.

Fuck you, Paul Ryan. It’s not okay for a fictional character to cheat on his wife, but it’s okay for a real life asshole to systematically deprive the poor of public assistance? Likewise, it’s okay to use public assistance to climb your way to the top and then pull the ladder up so no one else can?

Paul Ryan is a stupid hypocrite, and that’s being charitable.

This calls for an immediate vote to repeal Obamacare!

Yet Ryan has no trouble with Ronald Reagan or John McCain.

Well, duh, zombie eyes. That’s the whole point. He is a reprehensible character. Cheating on his wife is the least of his sins.

In the entire universe of ‘bad’ things that the show depicts Frank Underwood doing, the thing that Paul Ryan chooses to comment on is the thing that Frank did that was not actually a felony?

Wow, the standards for ‘civilized behavior’ in Washington really are skewed.

Couldn’t watch ‘House of Cards’ because one of the characters engages in reprehensible behavior.

Gives out ‘Atlas Shrugged’ as Christmas gifts.

Finds a fictional character reprehensible for committing adultery.

Claims that Ayn Rand inspired him to get into politics.

And what I thought is, it makes us all look like we’re like that.

No, reality makes you look like you are like that.

Fictional House members upset Ryan. Real House members, like Louisiana’s ‘Kissing Congressman’, Republican Vance McAllister, don’t

I’m sure Paul Ryan also despises other fictional characters that commit adultery, like Hank Rearden. That dude skipped out on his family’s Thanksgiving dinner to hook up with his mistress.

Reprehensible behavior or just radical self interest?

And King David. “I was in church and when they read the part where David sent Uriah to his death in battle so he could bang Uriah’s wife…well, I just stopped going.”

Maybe this is semantic, but it’s not cheating when she’s on board, is it?

The play’s the thing.

I guess “Murphy Brown” was not available to comment on?
What does it say when you make Dan Quayle look good in comparison?
