Discussion: Paul Ryan On Slayings Of Dallas Police: 'We Are All Outraged'

What about the prayers? Lord Jesus is getting pissed.

Ryan’s and the GOP hypocrisy does detract from the tragedy of what happened in Dallas. That is we should all be outraged over the shooting of the Dallas police as we equally should be outraged over Black men and children being wrongly shot by the police.

Where is Ryan’s, the NRA’s or any second amendment folks outrage over the killing by police of the MN man for legally carrying a concealed weapon. The man after being pulled over for a tail light being out set to the police he was legally carrying a concealed weapon and was going for his ID. The man was then murdered. If the constitution applies equally to all of us, there is no bigger threat to the 2nd amendment than what happed to Philando Castile.

Had instead of a White police officer killed a Black Man, under the same circumstances had a Black police officer killed a White man with a Nazi swastika tattooed on his forehead, the NRA and likely Ryan would be livid.

“This has been a long week for our country. This has been a long month for America. We have seen terrible, terrible senseless things,” Ryan said.

I know it’s not useful, but this irritated me. This has been going on for far, far longer than a month.

30 gun deaths a day do it for you? A mass shooting every day conveniently distributed across 50 states .

RYAN- we are all outraged…what he really meant… things going according to plan perfectly

Yeah, but not outraged enough to try to limit weapons that allow this kind of thing to happen.

Paul Ryan: You despicable incompetent scumbag. Outrage does not work. Moments of silence, thoughts and prayers on the other hand, have really been proven to work all the time. Why is there no moment of silence, no thoughts and prayers for these officers?

You are despicable and a disgrace to America, an awful irresponsible and incompetent leader. You just endorsed a man who uses neo-nazi propaganda verbatim.

Make no mistake about it. You are responsible for the deaths of these police officers in Dallas. Why did you not call for Congressional hearings after the deaths of young men at the hands of police? For the complete failure of the judicial system to hold people in power accountable? These senseless events in Dallas could have been prevented. This is a cycle of senseless violence caused your misguided, amoral, soulless and corrupt conservative values and leadership.

The jack booted NRA thugs have you by your shrunken balls so hard that you squeak when you speak.

hey now I have known little fucking weasels before and right now and don’t ever compare them to that …they don’t deserve that kind of dis-respect and hostility

“Sometimes we disagree on how to get there. Sometimes we disagree passionately in how to get there. But in having this debate let’s not lose sight on the values that unite us,” Ryan said.

I don’t the word debate means anything to Ryan as long as the NRA checks get cashed.

Paul’s so outraged he’s going to appoint another special committee to investigate the email server issue.

If Ryan’s desire to contrast himself with Donald Trump causes him to adopt a more civil tone than has become the GOP default, that will be progress.

It doesn’t change the fact that every single policy this ideologue advocates is born of lies, dogma, cynicism and/or corruption. But it’s something of a relief to see a Republican say something after a tragedy that falls within the bounds of ordinary democratic discourse.

The rest of the quote: "… Just not outraged enough to actually commit to gun control, which would have gone a long way towards preventing a terrible shooting like this. Heck, there was one black dude at the rally with his AR-15 that the police tweeted they thought was one of the shooters. Turned out he was just another guy in Texas carrying–Legally!!!-- his AR-15 at a protest. But, no, we’re not gonna change our approach to laws. We won’t make it easy to identify a bad guy by the fact that he’s carrying an assault weapon. We’ll continue to ensure that the only way to know it’s a bad guy is when he starts firing his weapon at the wrong people.

Thank you, and God Bless 'Murica!"
