Discussion: Paul Ryan On Bannon In Admin: He Helped Trump 'Win An Incredible Victory'

Yes, and because the Republican Party is a big tent. Now the flap is wide open on the (alt) right.

“This is a person who helped him win an incredible victory and an incredible campaign.”

Yeah, he’s a regular Hermann Goering, eh Eddie?

“This is a person who helped him win an incredible victory and an incredible campaign” may be true.
“This is a person who is a white-supremacist, antisemitic troll” is also true - and should be dispositive.

"Look, I would just simply say that the president is going to be judged on his results. This is a person who helped him win an incredible victory and an incredible campaign. The president is going to be judged on the results of this administration,"

Though this statement is true, it’s also the basis of a very good attack ad.

The president is going to be judged on the results of this administration," Ryan said

Bullshit. Anything that goes wrong will be Obama’s fault. Like the SOFA signed by Bush was.

just waiting on McConnell now.

I’m willing to put down a $5 wager that Mitch’s answer will be a bigger contradiction than Ryan’s.

“Trump allies and some Republicans have brushed off concerns from critics that Bannon’s website has mainstreamed white nationalism and xenophobia.”

And they’d be correct. Bannon’s website did none of that. The MSM did it. He and his ilk would have remained marginalized and on the fringe if they hadn’t so magnanimously provided Trump with free, overwhelmingly uncritical airtime and avoided the R-word and L-word to protect the GOP/Teatrolls and Trump campaign’s feefees.

And we’re very, very excited about getting to work for the American people.

I mean, c’mon, we’ve had 6 years of doing absolutely nothing useful. Wasted million$ on “investigations” that turned up nothing.

So, yeah, we’re looking forward to pushing through crappy ALEC legislation (cuz WE don’t want to think anything through OURSELVES); finally getting to the bottom of Bengazi and that email server thing so that a phony indictment can be handed down (and then lose in court because of a rigged jury); handing over working people’s Medicare $$ to wall street (but not the ones that Crooked Hillary talks to) and eventually Social Security. You know, working FOR the American People!

Ryan on Trump’s Racist Crew: “The president is going to be judged on the results of this administration.”

Say what you will about Mussolini; he may have done many brutal and tyrannical things; he may have destroyed human freedom; but one had to admit – he made the trains run on time.

[M]en judge generally more by the eye than by the hand, because it belongs to everybody to see you, to few to come in touch with you. Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them; and in the actions of all men, and especially of princes, which it is not prudent to challenge, one judges by the result.

For that reason, let a prince have the credit of conquering and holding his state, the means will always be considered honest, and he will be praised by everybody because the vulgar are always taken by what a thing seems to be and by what comes of it; and in the world there are only the vulgar, for the few find a place there only when the many have no ground to rest on.

Chapter XVIII of “The Prince”

Did anyone notice how abnormally fast Ryan talked? Like he was trying to get through his answers as quick as possible and get the heck out of there? It had a steamroller effect on the reporters who only managed to ask a few questions with no follow-ups.

It was markedly strange.

That took him an hour to say due to the spouts of spontaneous vomiting. Including stuff he hadn’t eaten yet.
