Spanky owns the Repugs at this point and his ego won’t let him do anything but what he wants to do. Too bad, assholes, you have been headed for this since Nixon. The sad part is the damage that is being done to the country will take decades to repair, if we can do it at all.

24 hours from D-Day, and Ryan is just now teling the “President” to back off!? ROTFLMFAO! You had TWO YEARS to try to talk some sense into him. But no, you rode him for all the lousy legislation he could muster and then you voted lockstep with him. You refused to take ownership of this monster you created. And now all of a sudden, Dr. Frankenstein is concerned his monster is killing the villagers. This is what history will remember you for, Soon-to-be-ex-Speaker Ryan.

History will not be kind to Ryan and his colleagues. He should STFU, keep his head down and pray he’s not caught up the coming shitstorm.

Trump swatted away his pleas, reassuring the House leader — who’s retiring, but will likely be lose his speaker status in coming days if, as predicted, Democrats grab the House — that his laser focus on immigration is the best way to ignite their base,

Hard to argue with Trump's tactics, since appealing to ignorant, xenophobic bigots is likely playing to the majority of Americans.

Too funny.

Based on this conversation between Ryan and Trump, it’s beyond time for the GOP to reassess the leader of their defunct party.

It didn’t in 2016. There’s no reason to think it will now.

Seems a little to late for that Mr. Speaker. Thank goodness!

Don’t forget that voter turnout was at a 20-year low in 2016. I think that had more to do with Trump’s election than anything he said. I certainly would not conclude that a majority of Americans wanted him or his policies.

I doubt turnout will be a problem tomorrow.

It’s a given every single one of the 63,000,000 people that voted for Trump in 2016 is a despicable sociopath and a bigoted xenophobe. Trump’s vile racism, misogyny, ignorance, volatility and mental illness was on display for everyone to assess, and those 63,000,000 cast their lot with him nevertheless. You are defined by your decisions and your actions. Voting for Trump placed you in league with all his pathologies. Voting for Trump was like owning a daycare center and hiring a known, unrepentent pedophile to run it for you.
Now, let’s assume that humans being what they are at least a few million of those voting for Hillary were also bigots and xenophobes. There are liberal, progressive people that unfortunately possess retrograde attitudes toward minorities and foreigners.
So, Trump’s 63,000,000 and a few of Hillary’s similary polluted souls, and bingo, you have a majority of Americans we really need Raptured away, off the planet. Or a plague. Whatever. Just go away.

Sadly it does not appear that is likely to happen this week.

[Takes name of supposed tri-partate deity in obscene vain - repeatedly.] I wish I hadn’t clicked on that link.

Funny thing is, I’ve known a guy for about fifty years who believes in this rapture silliness. He is a very decent person, and his belief is totally sincere. Chacun a son gout, I guess.

“Trump has hijacked the election,” a senior House Republican told Politico. “This is not what we expected the final weeks of the election to focus on.”
