That’s strange, I thought Rand had a sense of humor, what with that dead squirrel he has stapled to his head. I guess he’s more into sight gags than quirky sitcoms.

I get the sense that maybe interpreting writing and humor is not his strong suit.
Maybe he just felt uncomfortable saying someone else’s words in front of the camera.

Modern conservatives don’t do humor. Can’t do comedy. To attempt either involves the risk of making themselves look foolish. Losing face is a huge no-no to the RWNJs.

I never have watched parks and recreation, have no idea of who Ron Swanson is, and I think that Rand Paul is a very silly and vacuous poseur. His main advantage in life is that he is the offspring of an older, very silly and incoherent vacuous poseur. So, I can only say…Carry on! The increasing entropy of the universe continues unabated.

Well, duh. Comedy requires one to understand what is going on inside the heads of the audience, to understand how they see the world and to be aware of the shared assumptions that can be manipulated to create a comic moment. To be an adult, hard-core free-market libertarian requires one to assume that the cranium houses cogs and gears for parsing life into an endless series of economic transactions for which options must continually be evaluated to maximize self interest.
