Do we have an over/under on how long the sentence is?
I’m going with 5 months.
IIRC they reco’d 0 - 6 months.
A light sentence gives other conspirators encouragement to cooperate and the Big Cheese nothing to pardon. Papadopolos is rich enough to have immunity to having his life wrecked by the justice system’s normal approach to crime and punishment. This gato flaco will end up doing community service with the kids that got busted for weed.
I’m going with 12-18 months (which may be wishful thinking on my part). The OSC memo recommended a jail sentence and highlighted his lack of cooperation. Papado also lied in his sentencing memo about material facts. He covered for the Russians and allowed Mifsud to escape scrutiny. Personally, I would like to see the Judge send a message about the cost of non-cooperation and increase the sentence. It would be a clear signal to the other collaborators.
I agree. It needs to be more than a slap on the wrist, especially as he has shown no remorse, but especially as he waffled and tried to squirm out of his agreements. Well, the little ersatz man let’s his ersatz wife (handler) do that for him.

I disagree. It seems like Papado substantially reneged on his agreement. If he gets off light, it will send a message to the rest that the government is playing softball and there will be no consequences even if you’re caught on tape undermining your plea agreement.
I hope the judge helps Mueller make an example of this guy:
- fulsome cooperation gets you the terms you plead to
- jerking us around gets you shafted
