Oh Leon, please, we all know everything bad that happens for at least the next decade is Obama’s fault.
Or Hillary …
She fucked it up as Secretary of State doncha know
You heard it here first
According to U.S. officials cited by Reuters, Trump receives one intelligence briefing per week on average, while Vice President-elect Mike Pence receives around six per week.
new keywords for 2017: de facto president.
Fuck that. I’m blaming him even if he goes to intel briefings three times a day. The dog caught the car. They now OWN this shit outright and we should be more than willing to serve them the same relentless blaming they leveled at Obama for the past 8 years. Merciless. NO QUARTER.
He owns blame for attacks—period!
Taking responsibility is part of the job.
Although, as many people have noted, it is practically a no-brainer that his foreign Trump hotels are targets now—much softer.
Trump isn’t going to be deeply engaged in running the country. He’s going to be busy holding victory rallies for the next four years. Someplace he can go brag on himself and soak in the adoration of a fawning crowd. A Cabinet meeting or sit down with a few intel briefers hardly produce raucous applause and chants of “Lock her up!!!”
You mean like Bush and Cheney were “blamed” after 9/11? Please.
that’s a bad idea.
Though there were plenty of reasons as to why folks are currently in this spot, nobody elected Pence as the head of the ticket. Trump is relying on a guy to keep doing his homework and that could bite him hard in the end.
Seeing as The Towers fell during Clinton’s final term it’s entirely understandable Bush/Cheney escaped blame.
Actually, it was the fault of time-traveling Obama, no?
Yeah … but here’s the thing:
Is Trump capable of sitting through a briefing? Comprehending the content? Knowing the who and where of what’s he’s being told? Giving a damn?
Trump is so full of himself, he thinks he can bully and bluster his way through/around any problem that arises. (And there’s always the military to attack whomever if Twitter doesn’t satisfy him.)
I predict ISIS et al. will provoke him into something very early on in his presidency. (Or, more likely, they’ll be busy between now and January 20 so he’s itching to attack somebody as soon as he takes the oath.) Whatever he does, it will be far and away the best recruiting tool terrorists (foreign and domestic) have ever known.
Imagine that if there is an attack, and thousands die-- we’ll be concerned about whether or note we “can” blame Trump? Really? That is absurd on so many levels. Consider the Dem response to 9/11 and the GOP response to “BENGHAZI!!”
Dems will tend to the crisis created and try to prevent another. The GOP will blame Hillary, send Thotz&Prayerz cut coporate taxes, and gut Medicare.
I just hope if it does happen the terrorists extend the courtesy of striking someplace south of the Mason-Dixon. It’ll make tuning back into the football game a bit easier.
Trump will suffer nothing at all. That’s how it used to work. Rupert changed that. Bush blew off the most important intel brief in US history and walked right back into the White House in 2004 after impugning the combat service of his opponent. It doesn’t work like it used to. If it did there would be no Trump. He wouldn’t have run. It’s different now. If we suffer an attack it will be blamed on Obama. 50 % of Americans are incapable of accepting anything else and the other 50 % are so cow towed they don’t matter anymore.
Russia just hacked an American election and installed their preferred guy. They didn’t do that because the just acquired the technology to do so. They did it because the political landscape in the USA is so fucking polluted they knew nothing would come of it. Now was the time for them. And no one is here is going to fix it. Putin knew that too.
Of course he (and by extension the entire Rep party) will be to blame. An absentee president is never a good sign. Though I’m not sure if inaction or doing something will provoke bigger backlash. In any case he’s not going to survive the next four years without some serious damage to his ego and health.
It will likely be Trump Tower or some other major Trump property and Trump will respond by launching nukes. After all, remember he asked “why do we have them if we don’t use them”
A person is president=Corporations are People=Presidential Corporations are Presidents!
I think Panetta is overstating the concerns here. If the U.S. is attacked while Trump is President, Obama will undoubtedly be to blame.
Will Trump get blamed? He’s immune to scrutiny, facts, irresponsible actions, and any kind of personal accountability. Plus he’s got a populace that on the whole doesn’t care, a media and two other branches of government who will be too chickenshit to actually hold him accountable. He could have shot somebody on 5th Avenue and not lost any voters in the general election, you know.
