Discussion for article #240336
"The reluctant staffer, Ben Graham, told him, âthis isnât going to work.â
Thatâs one of the TeaBaggersâ greatest failings: they never listen to good advice
I am sure the MI legislature and Tea Partiers will find a couple of minority libs to expel in their place
They went after Courser a lot more than they went after Gamrat during the questioning phase in their separate hearings. Its not a done-deal in the legislature yet.
My guess is that the Rs want those two out so as to be able to set up a special election and have better incumbents in office at the time of a general election. Otherwise, they risk having crap candidates running for re-election that are easy to go after by an opponent. Everythingâs political.
All that matters to these Rs in the legislature is the degree to which these two scumbags have hurt the party. On the whole they could care less whether they acted immorally or unethically imo. Republicans act that way everyday here as far as Iâm concerned.
Silly Teabaggers, should have gone with the âexchanging documentsâ story. That oneâs fool proof.
He looks like he is reaching for his package of âMagnumsâ (ha) and she looks cockâŚerâŚmoonstruck.
Well I for one think they should definitely stay in office!
OTOH, I am a Michigan Democrat. So thereâs that.
Their biggest failings, in order, are:
A. An utter lack of shame;
B. Willful ignorance, especially about economics, social science, science, rational thinking, logic;
C. A sense of entitlement, combined with the bone-headed idea, that if they keep their fingers in their ears, while talking louder than everyone else, they will eventually convince others that they and only they are correct;
D. A conviction that tax cuts help government govern, and help the muddle class incomes grow.
This guy is crazy. When this story broke I read some local stuff on him. He likely pulled a similar stunt during his campaign and accusations of child pornography. He is completely unhinged and certainly not fit for office if his natural reaction is to plant stories about himself and use them to lash out at others.
Illegally. In Michigan, adultery is considered a felony.
Well, at least they didnât submit to blackmail. Leaves one to wonder how many of the bizarre candidates the tea party elects do.
The legislature is mainly concerned with whether these two used State resources (ie money) and threatened the livelihood of employees in order to conduct their not-so-secret affair. If they went after adulterers, theyâd have to go after a whole lot of these assholes in Lansing imo. No, they have to make this a specific infraction to oust them so they donât have to do this when similar shit like this comes up again. Its safer for all hypocritical Republicans that way.
T-baggers also lack any sense of empathy or sense of proportion. We of Michigan should be ashamed at their behavior.
well ya can bet that if someone running for office is unfit to serve then ya sure as hell can bet the tea party will elect them sight unseen âŚor common sence denied
âFamily Valuesâ on display.
I would be very curious as to what would happen if all the Michigan Democrats were to abstain on the grounds they didnât want it to look political.
I donât think that the legislators should be kicked out for having an affair and sex. They are politicians: they should be free to lie and make unsubstantiated accusations to protect their self interests.
John Boehner and Mitch McConnell do it all the time. George Bush lied about the Iraq war too and thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians died.
Cindy and Todd were having sex. Whatâs the big deal. Loosen up. That they were religulous tea partiers makes no substantial difference.
(Tea) Party on Todd, (Tea) Party on Cindy. Life is too short. Go for it. Have fun. Add favorite positive cliche here âŚâŚ
I wish both Cindy Gamrat and Todd Courser much happiness with each other. They are a nice looking couple. Both have great smiles and seem genuinely happy together in the photo!
Nice smile Cindy. Gettinâ laid a lot? Good for you.
As of 5 pm EST:
The Michigan House is still in the process of voting but hasnât reached the 2/3rds supermajority needed to expel Courser. Thatâs 73. So far theyâre at 67 but the vote is still open. They may not take any action on Gamrat as all either.
