Discussion: PA Supreme Court Won't Delay Implementation Of New House Map

I guess this will just accelerate the impetus within the PA GOP to impeach their State Supreme Court justices…

I’m surprised that wasn’t included in the article…

Great news – a fairer map (this one isn’t even as fair as it could be, they admit this) is seven years late and many a horrid GOPers have gotten in using the severely gerrymandered GOP map. Perhaps the GOP should have tried playing fair from the beginning – but NNOOOOOO!!! Can’t control things if we don’t cheat, say the GOPers.

Well, the Democrats tried numerous times to work with you. The governor tried. Finally, the justices had to step in and smack your asses down and make you listen to actual reason. The truth sometimes hurts.

This won’t stop the Republicans, they will continue to fight against making the map fair, because in a fair election they know they won’t do as well. This is their behavior across the nation, and it will continue until they get smacked down enough to stop it…and even then there will still be pockets that try to cheat instead of win a fair election. The root of the matter is that they know their policies are not beneficial to the people in total, only to certain groups, and that demographics are against them…in their eyes their political survival depends on gaming the system to keep their power.

They don’t seem to care, or maybe realize, how unAmerican that attitude is, or consider that changing their policies for the good of all people would keep them in power. That’s why they deserve to fail as a party.

This action by the PA Supremes was a given. Evidently the GOP needed to ask them before they could get another request to SCOTUS, specifically Alito at SCOTUS. And the R’s have a separate action in with a federal court in Harrisburg.

I have found a good site to keep up with legal developments on this issue:

Oof! There’s a bad mood on the Right. Mike Turdseye can’t rig it for 2018 like he wanted to for Mitt Romney.

Last resort will be the paid for by the koch’s oath keepers guarding the polling places with a check in aisle
Need voter reg stating you are a republican to enter and all others will be shot on site.
Voter intimidation to the extreme or a gop’s dream come true.

It will continue untill the public wakes up and relizes they are being played. I am not sure that will happen. We used to talk about the 10 percent, now it seems to be the 35 percent.

Frightening.

I just found out that someone I know casually from Democratic campaigns was one of the plaintiffs in the original case. He wrote an op-ed for the local paper detailing how the League of Women Voters, of which he’s a member, asked him to be part of the case. I think they needed to get plaintiffs from different districts around the state. He traveled to Harrisburg and gave a 3 hour deposition which was included in the complaint. Must be cool to be part of a turning of the tide toward fairer elections in this country.
