Discussion: Oversight Committee To Investigate Security Clearances At White House

How about whether a Russian agent should have a clearance?

Trump is toast and, I suspect, many, MANY in Congress and the Administration who’ve either enabled or turned a blind eye to trump’s actions.

Yes indeedy…I’m all for that. No telling how many national security secrets these Drumpfuckers have traded for $$$$ to Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Russia and who knows who else, over the last two years. That’s been one of the most frightening things I can think of that’s gone under the radar up until now, to be really honest.

They are going to slow walk/stonewall at every step of this investigation.

An Oversight Committee doing actual oversight. This is going to be a hell of a shock to Individual 1 and his accomplices.

Ruh-roh. Jared’s always skated but I think his skates are getting hung up so his feet can more conveniently be put to the fire.

Yep. Look for massive claims of executive privilege combined with out right refusals to testify and turn over documents.

The one problem they might have with that approach however, is they are pretty badly understaffed, legally to mount such a delay campaign.

The other problem will occur if the House passes legislation that tightens the procedures for granting security clearances to White House staff. The Republicans in the Senate will then be in the enviable position of having to explain why they’re voting against it. Great theater.

Oh, I’m sure Rudy can handle it.

If Trump says they are secure ,they are secure.
No need to investigate and waste money that could be used on the wall.

Perhaps I’m mistaken, but I was under the impression a President has carte-blanche in granting security clearances, even to the extent of overriding the recommendations of the IC. So even if something inappropriate happened here -and no doubt it did -what exactly can the Oversight Committee do? Just publicize the malfeasant behavior in order to inform the public and hopefully shame Trump?

And the committee work keeps on rolling oblivious to all the bat shit distractions that abound. Go Eli!

I wasn’t aware of that. I thought a President gets to decide what’s classified and what’s not, but always assumed there is a pretty strict protocol for who gets clearance and at what level.

I hope the Committee starts by finding a way to take away his unsecured phone. What a fucking nightmare that’s been for the country.

This is going to leave a mark.

Nonsense, it’s only oversight when blowjobs or personal email servers are involved.
