To hell with all of them. I didn’t hear any “concerns” before they left town. In essence they helped stoke the fire and then pulled the fire alarm just before they ran out of the building.

True Rethugliklan heroism writ large.

I’m pretty sure that Hitler actually wrote Mein Kampf himself.

"Outgoing Republican Rep. Mark Sanford (R-SC) on Wednesday warned of the dangers of accepting the term ‘fake news’ and suggested that Trump’s presidency could eventually lead to the emergence of a ‘Hitler-like character’.”

Not much gets past Rep. von Papen.

Of course he’s not referring to tRump, just someone that could come along and be and do some of the things that are happening now. But, of course, he’s not referring to tRump.

Sanford should know something about Trump’s character, since he spent a certain amount of it on the Appalachian Trail. Trump has, metaporically, spent his entire life hiking the Appalachian Trail, including the part he should have spent tramping around the jungle in Viet Nam.

NOW he tells us…what a shitbag.

Just a wee bit late on the “if a Hitler-like character comes along” warning, but, yeah, thanks Mark.

Yet another chickenshit afraid to say anything about the incompetent running the country until he’s on his way out the door. Screw him.

We can’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.

If we have no faith in our institutions and the people that populate them, our system breaks down.

We must embrace the truth, and it will set us free.

Open political systems cannot survive in a post-truth world.

We cannot accept chronic streams of distruth.

If everything is subjective, there is nothing to debate.

If, on the other hand, there is objective truth, and I can approach it from the right while you approach it from a perspective more to the left, then we can join in debate.

Without truth out in the middle, there is no starting point.

Sanford’s a sad figure. He won’t even be footnote in congressional history. I’d like to say he could’ve been better. But if he could’ve been, he would have.

Are the only responsible GOP leaders the ones who did not get reelected?

Pretty much, some Republican will talk of being “concerned” or “have doubts” but if they’re Senators then McTurtle gets a hold of them and…it’s too disgusting to say, no shouldn’t talk about what Mitch does to them in cloakroom, but he smooths the way for Trump.
Now if they’re a Congresscritter how much you want to bet Jordan still knows how to perform a headlock?

Of course, to be truly ‘Hitler-like’ he’d have to be a Democrat pushing health-care reform.

Gee Rep. Sanford, did you just figure this out. A great many of us have been concerned about just that possibility since June, 2015 when Herr Trump came down that escalator.

Yeah, not killing prematurely 50,000 Americans a year is Hitler-like?
