Beto O’Rourke-Willie Nelson fans pack Turn Out For Texas rally in Austin

AUSTIN — Roughly 55,000 people stood crammed together at Auditorium Shores in Austin on Saturday for the Turn Out For Texas rally, watching as U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke sang “On the Road Again” with country music legend Willie Nelson.

The Texas Republican Party has run out of ideas and energy. That’s why they make their living on bashing immigrants, gays, and transsexuals. According to them, the biggest issue facing Texans is the bathroom bill.

It’s past time for a change and Beto has unleashed an excitement and energy that I haven’t seen among Texas Democrats in quite some time. Democrats have consistency fallen short in Texas, but with a great candidate in our side and a very unlikeable candidate in their’s, I’m optimistic.

Kid Rock drove into their limo outside the venue.

His cannabis company, Willie’s Reserve, responded to conservatives’ calls to burn Nelson records by deadpanning on Twitter: “If you’re going to burn something, burn Willie’s Reserve.”

Clearly a man with no fucks to give.

Wow! 55000 - 60000 people at the rally… 3x the best that Trump has seen any place in Texas.

When and IF Trump ever decides to hold his rally for Cruz and chooses a venue, I hope that Beto’s supporters can get there early and tailgate in the parking lot…They can take up all the close in parking places and force the Trump humpers to navigate through a physical manifestation of the looming blue wave. If they could encircle the stadium during the rally 3 to 4 deep that would make a very memorable visual.

Well, trump hasn’t scheduled his event yet for Cruz, but Don Jr. will be attending two rallies with Ted Cruz next week.

I’d love to compare the attendance figures…

Never imagined saying this but I wish I lived in Texas so I could vote for Beto!

The anti-Beto ad I’ve seen most frequently is all about how if Beto wins we’re going to be overrun with MS13 gang members. Fear! Fear! Fear!

They don’t have a real message or anything they can point to that Cruz has accomplished. Because he hasn’t accomplished anything.

Good idea,
help get to $5MM by tonight:

We’re trying to raise $5 million by midnight tonight to make sure we have the resources we need to be out there in every single county in Texas, listening to and sharing our story with everyone who’s going to decide the most important election taking place in this country this year.

Beto for Texas
I’m counting on you. Whether this is your first donation, or you’ve already made a contribution and can contribute again, I guarantee it will help make the difference.

Help us reach the people who will decide the future of this country on November 6. Click here to send another donation before midnight tonight and help us reach our goal.

Hell, if they did that, half the Trumpers would go home rather than walk that far in one go…

For the first time in, oh, maybe 35 or 40 years, I am proud to live in Texas. My vote will actually count this year!!!

I was in Texas last week (work travel, not by choice) and while walking around bustling downtown Plano, I noticed a couple of “Beto” signs in windows … didn’t see any for Cruz. I mean, Austin is one thing – they call it the “people’s republic” in the state – but Plano?
