Nice. MORE ‘media’ should stand up and be counted.
FINALLY!!
The press that loves you is starting to see the emperor needs new clothes!!
I love it!
One more thing, since you hate being a senator, so you just don’t show up anymore, what’s going to happen if you (heaven forbid) do get elected POTUS and hate that job as well? Just not going to show up?
Don’t worry. There’s no danger that Rubio will resign. Only a person of integrity would do that.
I wonder if it’s because the BBC simply doesn’t comprehend the utter fecklessness of the Republican Party, and its correspondents just assume that a nationally-prominent pol like Rubio has some minimal level of competence and integrity.
“Rubio has missed nearly 60 votes because of his presidential campaign,”
In Senator Rubio’s defense, the success of his presidential campaign speaks for itself.
I have thought the same thing as well.
And there is also the idea that Rubio (tho’ as dumb as a bag of timbales sticks) at least looks more intelligent than people like Cruz, Jindal, Paul, Kasich, Bush, Fiorina, Christie, Huckabee, Trump or Carson.
Far FAR more.
That is the reason why I have him pegged as the frontrunner (though this particular goof just hurt his chances) as well – seriously, can you name someone who actually looks like a better candidate than Rubio for 2016? (GOP-side, obviously, not Dem or General).
Well a news organ is only as good as its correspondents. And a Brit in the US is pretty much dependent on Americans for his understanding of US politics. He is a stranger in a strange land. This guy seems to have gotten most of his information from people in south Florida.
In addition to “Keeps gaffes to a minimum”, another of Rubio’s alleged strong points was “Strong Hispanic appeal”. Now, most Hispanics in America are not Cubans from south Florida. And most Hispanics in America do not take well to Cuban-Americans, seeing them as having been given extraordinary breaks and regarding them basically as line-jumpers. Rubio’s Hispanic appeal outside south Florida is much less than this analyst rates it.
Basically, I think he’s just bought into a south Florida bubble.
I assume it is people like Rubio the GOP have in mind when they talk about people mooching off the government. He’s getting government money and not doing his job. I’m sure Fox will be outraged over this.
Appears that Rubio and Cruz are entitled little brats. The other Senators running are doing their jobs. Time to resign, children.
From a GOP point of view he is doing his job… nothing.
Dollars to doughnuts, however…this “editorial” was crafted by a Bushie. Just look at the timing. They have been gathered together strategizing in Houston over the weekend, pretty much all agreeing that he has to put down Rubio ASAP before he can focus on Trump. Because coming in behind Rubio in Florida destroys any hope of a campaign.
Voila, like magic (no, not a basketball pun) the Orlando newspaper decides to publish a hard hitting editorial about a home state Senator, who has already announced his retirement from the Senate, for daring to be campaigning instead of attending votes. And its very much worth noting, that they have been silent about his atrocious attendance record for 5 years. But now, for some odd reason (see Houston conclave) its a big, big problem.
It’s also the first time he’s done something so stupid as to try to explain away his voting attendance with such a ridiculous reason. Whether it’s a political hit job or not, it was beautifully written and it’ll sting. The best hit jobs are always grounded in truth.
Rubio sure sounds like presidential material to me…
president of Procrastinators Anonymous or the Whiners Club, perhaps.
Here’s why Rubio and not the peasants he represents, receive a $10,000 federal subsidy for his healthcare!

This guy is not serious. He is not invested in his constituency. He is running for himself to burnish credentials for speaking fees and K Street. Big power boats and a lifestyle for the wife cost money. That’s his only interest
Amen.
Those cheerleaders make expensive wives.
(Rubio is married to an ex-Dolphin cheerleader. One of the weird unverified rumors surrounding him in Tallahassee is the fathered a child with yet another Dolphin cheerleader, and was carrying on with yet a third. There are all sorts of strange rumors about Rubio in Tallahassee).
And after years and years we’re finally trying to make a point.
It was fine for the first year. And the second year. And the third year. And the fourth year.
But now we’re MAD!
I’ve heard this too. I find it amazing, if it’s true, how many politicians, knowing there is career ending dirt out there, still run the family through the grinder of public elections…
The narcissism is rampant in this one.
