So who is making money selling all these machines that we already know will not be accurate, and how much money did they give to who?

The tech is just plainly not there yet, to be able to match up people without a ton of false negs or positives. Not to mention all the other legal/ethical hangups. Also what issue is so bad that they are trying to solve using this? And to solve it wouldn’t they need to have it on all modes of leaving the country.

Please, Secretary Nielsen. Stop binge-watching NCIS. The show is fiction - facial recognition doesn’t work that well or that fast.

Two U.S. senators last month sent a letter to the Department of Homeland Security, which is home to the border protection agency, urging that formal rules be implemented before the program is expanded.

Rules? We don’t need no stinkin’ rules…!!!

Besides, where are the rules for childrens’ incarcerations with respect to border crossings with their parents?

Same department, no?

I’m sort of unclear on what justification CBP has to collect information on people who are leaving, short of having a valid passport.

Was thinking the same thing. WDW gets a lot of business from Brazil and UK.

“Yep, we’re looking for a brown-skinned male with a nervous expression.”

I wonder what would happen if they required airport employees to go through this every day. The false positives are ridiculous.
