Thanks for your concern trolling for the First Lady. How condescending to painting outfit she was “essentially correct”. Guess what - a slave is a slave and being better housed and fed is not a substitute for emancipation. Thanks for playing, now Go Away!

Fox News shining star Bill O’Reilly responded Tuesday to First Lady Michelle Obama’s commanding Democratic National Convention speech by putting forth that the slaves who built the White House were actually “well fed and had decent lodgings.”

and he knows this how?

This is so offensive that even some Republicans must find this a bridge too far - right?

“I mean the slaves didn’t even ask anyone to pass them the motherf*cking iced tea.” This man is an idiot.

This isn’t shocking, not because Bill O’Reilly is an odious creature, which he is, but because this is the conservative viewpoint. This is why they don’t want slavery covered in textbooks. So that the current generation and future ones are ignorant to the atrocity that was slavery. That way they can pretend minorities are just a bunch of whiners that didn’t have it “that bad”.

with so much work to be done
before they end up dying
from doing so much work.

OMG wtf???
Do they really need to dissect that part of the speech?
Why are they rating how well SLAVES were treated?

Oh my goodness I feel like tearing my hair out right now.

WHO CARES if the SLAVES were well treated, well fed, happily singing, etc? I mean, I don’t get why some people on the right have this need to downplay the fact that our history includes the FACT that the US enslaved people! Is it to assuage guilt or something? Do they feel personally at fault? Or could it be they don’t really think it’s that big a deal…???

These people missed a key point of the speech: that America really is great. It’s exceptional that a woman who decended from slaves resides in the House that slaves built. That should be cheered. That is a true testament of how great this country is. That’s a mile marker right there. Isn’t that what the right wingers are always saying; pull yourself by your bootstraps? That it doesn’t matter where you come from or your lot in life, that you can make it in America…?

Instead we are being treated to lovely stories of how well slaves were fed and how wonderfully they were treated.
