Of course, they really want freedom from the Constitution as it’s currently written and amended.
You’re correct, of course. Clearly, I misspoke.
It’s hard to think like Republicans when their predominant feature is not thinking.
These constant expressions of shock by Republicans that people are acting like all the dreck the right wing noise machine has been feeding them for years is true never fail to amaze and amuse.
Was thinking the same thing. Kinda like Gingrich’s Contract FOR America that turned out actually to be a Contract ON America.
“What’s happening in Harney County is very troubling, and, if history is
any gauge, no one comes out of situations like this a winner," Walden

No kidding!
Esp. the armed occupiers. So far they have shown rather well their abysmal level of intelligence. Some have recorded “good bye” videos as if they are martyrs about to be killed by an unjust government. And they call themselves patriots… forgetting that to be an actual patriot means support of said government. Irony, thy name is Bundy
SHHHH!!! Trumps gonna say he thought of this occupation and then he’ll blame Obama.
Republican Leadership Retreat … shouldn’t they call it a Republican Leadership Surrender?
The Ruskies in WWII used a barbaric but effective tactic to force the disinterested to fight for them. They put the ‘volunteers’ in a trench with weapons between the Russian and German forces. Their only chance was to fight like hell. That’s what the GOP base is doing to GOP politicians … they fight or their political lives die.
Yeah, and I’ll bet he’s really pissed.
Refrigerator magnets.
He’s getting feedback alright! I’m in his district and was astonished he hadn’t issued any statement 24 hrs after the story broke. Sent him a few messages to that effect. He did, finally.
Not woods, just sagebrush and tumbleweeds. Oregon high desert, part of the most sparsely populated area in the lower 48,
So what you’re saying, in other words, is that Walden was too chicken-shit cowardly to say anything until the fear of repercussions from not saying anything became greater than his fear of pissing off wingnut militia types and the GOP base.
What a different tune when he was talking about non-violent crimes:
”If you want to stop greed, you’ve got to reintroduce fear into the system,” said Congressman Greg Walden, R-Ore. ”The penalties that were there and the ability to enforce them were inadequate. We increased the penalties for altering and destroying documents. Moreover we added fines and jail time. I don’t know that you’ll ever be able to stop a thief from stealing, but it will make it easier to catch them and send a message that they’re going to pay.”
So he want’s to make examples out of non-violent criminals, but when serial arsonists, because they are friends of his and ranchers in his district… now he cries about mandatory minimums.
