I think lawyers in court cases say “Know how the witness will answer before asking the question.”
GOP are too stupid to realize that Universal Healthcare (whatever you want to call it) is highly popular among voters, not just Dems/Progressives
That would make a good campaign ad for Bernie!
“Of those, how many are willing to transition to what the senator says, a government-run system and pay for it with higher taxes?” Baier asked.
“Of those, how many are willing to transition to what the senator says, a government-run system and no longer have the option of private insurance?” Baier asked.
Intended or not, that was probably Bernie’s best moment in that town hall.
“What some political people don’t fully understand: Medicare for all is not a radical position,” Matthew Dowd, a former top Republican who is a vocal Trump critic, wrote on Twitter. “Increased taxes on the very wealthy is not a radical position. Gun reform is not radical. All are supported by a majority of the country. If you are a centrist, that is the center.”
(I post this often to remind myself I am not in the minority)
From POLITICO:
“But the room was packed with Sanders supporters, and the Vermont senator fed off the energy of the crowd.”
So that’s why hands shoot up.
A FOX townhall doesn’t necessarily mean a room of FOX audience.
I do think Fox wanted Bernie to have a good moment. It feeds their agenda of trolling Dems and promoting the guy they’d most like Trump to face off against. In that same interview, Bernie threw the DNC, CAP, asylum seekers, and allies like Ilhan Omar under the bus. Fox appreciated the gesture and slammed Omar even harder not 1 hour after he left their studios. He also slammed TPP (a dead trade deal) and NAFTA (umm, Trump’s minor changes to NAFTA aren’t getting ratified in the Congress and there’s not a peep about it). He looked way out of touch on the trade issue. Then Fox spent all morning writing articles trolling Bernie for being a millionaire. Not sure it was worth it for him in the end.
I saw that. It had to be one of the most embarrassing moments in the history of Fox News. People are hurting and even Fox News viewers on employer insurance are nervous about losing health care. People just want the healthcare problem fixed. This issue has grown beyond control by the owners of right wing media. Republicans continue to ignore the issue at their peril.

Useful idiot only useful in certain situations.
You have to be out of your mind. Fox is a propaganda channel. They control everything down to membership in the crowd. How do you know Politico isn’t the victim of the Fox News damage control team?
If Roger Ailes was still alive, this would’ve been on tape delay, cut & the tape burned.
Do you think Sanders would agree to go on FOX without some say in the make-up of the audience? FOX is bad, but it’s a business.
Employer-based insurance limits personal freedoms and economic growth.
If employers knew that their employees could freely leave for greener pastures or riskier ventures because they and their family would still have healthcare coverage when they transitioned, then they’d need to put a bit more of their massive profits back into the pockets of the people who do the work.
And employees with great ideas and wanting to take the leap on a new business, project or idea could do that, knowing that they’d still be covered.
You have to called it “socialized healthcare” so that everybody hates it. Americans hate everything that contains the word “social”, except “Social Security” and many hate that too.
Go the fuck home, Bernie.
In other govenment run vs private run news…charter schools.

Slightly OT (medicare, not SS)… but along the same lines. This will always, ALWAYS be my favorite part of the tea party movement.
This.
I lived in Canada for several years, and saw this at play with everyone from desk clerks to corporate VPs. When your healthcare is not a chain binding you to a specific position, educational and career opportunities open up.
That is freedom, which is why I think Pete’s message about “freedom to” vs “freedom from” is a powerful one.
And good on Sanders for this. I do respect him, even when my Bernie friends turn me off with their cultish antics ;).
