Discussion: Once Again, No, Christie Was Not Appointed U.S. Attorney Before 9/11

Discussion for article #240617

The most important thing to remember is that George W. Bush ā€œkept us safe.ā€ That is, if you ignore the most catastrophic terrorist attack on U.S. soil, which happened during his administration.

is he still coasting off that one?

And I thought the most important thing to remember is how fast Christie will throw somebody under a bus.

Facts have no ability to penetrate the fantasy quagmire of the GOP mind —

The man has told so many whoppers about so many things for so long that I’d almost be disappointed in him if he didn’t repeatedly ā€œmisspeakā€ about this as well.

While the biggest whopper of all is the size of his belt.

Someone on another thread also pointed out how insensitive it was to make that statement so close to the anniversary of 9/11.

Just checking the ā€˜liar’ box on the GOP presidential qualification list.

That reminds me of the part in Wolf of Wallstreet when he claims that his first day as a real Wall Street broker was the day the market collapsed and everyone lost their jobs. And while I don’t know if that was actually true, I assumed the guy had embellished his story to make it sound better than it was. That guy was a huge con artist bully, and totally reminds me of Christie.

Doesn’t matter—he’s a dipshit either way.

Not really. A proper GOP liar tells lies that are either unverifiable or have enough truthiness to them that it takes too long to explain why it’s a lie. Telling outright lies that are easily debunked makes Christie a failure in Republican circles.

Anyone can tell outright falsehoods. A Republican liar has to give lies that are so outrageous they make your jaw drop, but truthy enough that the media won’t call you a liar. That’s why Dick Cheney remains their patron saint. The fact that he can say nothing but lies actually makes it harder to call him out for it, cuz he’s just so damn good. And even now, the media treats him like an elder statesman and not a treasonous war criminal who was wrong about absolutely everything.

Christie wouldn’t know the truth if it smacked him in his big, fat mouth.

Well, yeah, but once he got that bridge traffic ground to a halt, that would have been perfectly safe!

Hey don’t bring up what Christie said in or did in the past, only talk about what he’s saying right at the moment!

Chris Christie is a lying liar.

At least Christie finally quit bragging about bringing in the biggest crab haul in season 4 of ā€œDeadliest Catchā€. I was getting tired of that tale.

Once, again, Governor Balls excuses his lies with lies.

Yes. Cheney’s self-righteous smug wallowing in a fetid swamp of starkly obvious lies continues to astound me. How is he not sitting shackled in the dock at the Hague? Why do pundits treat him as a statesman instead of a mendacious war criminal and war profiteer?

Color me flummoxed.

Cruz and his continuous lies is not far behind Cheney.
