Bob Corker told reporters that lawmakers are debating over an extension date for a continuing resolution.“Days on what we extend to, and I’m going to guess it’s going to (be) some time between the second of February and the 8th,” he said“A date in early February a few days apart — I think — is the only separation at this point,” Corker continued.

The current impasse is over Democrats’ and some Republicans’ objections to Congress’ failure to come to an agreement on legislation to continue the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program that Trump rescinded,

Obviously the Dems fault. They told DT if he rescinded DACA they would pass a legislative fix to make the program permanent. You should never trust the minority party to keep its word about passing legislation.

If the government shuts down Friday night, it will be the first shutdown in the modern era to happen when a single party controls both chambers of Congress and the presidency.

This is the 2nd time that this has happened.

The first time was 40 years ago and abortion funding was the issue.

Carter was President n the Democrats were the majority in Congress.
