No oneās commitment to our constitution should be questioned because of their faith or country of birth.
Especially when people like Pirro, born in Elmira, New York, clearly have no commitment to it whatsoever.
Ya Pirro started a debate all right: how many figures will be her severance check? I vote for $0.00
āNo oneās commitment to our Constitution should be questioned because of their faith or country of birth,ā Omar tweetedā¦Omar has ben criticized for anti-Semitism in recent weeks for suggesting that pro-Israel advocates share an āallegiance to a foreign country,āā¦unless she is the one doing it?
Omar Thanks Fox News
Heads Explode
Thereās a real tension between how much Fox deserves to pay, vs the nothing that Pirro deserves to receive. Fox should fire her and donate her severance pay to Rep Omarās campaign instead. Problem solved!
What exactly did this add to the story?
Omar has been criticized for anti-Semitism in recent weeks for suggesting that pro-Israel advocates share an āallegiance to a foreign country,ā perpetuating a widely recognized anti-Semitic trope about Jewish peopleās loyalty to Israel.
Rep. Omar is a class act. Giving Fox News the benefit of the doubt is a VERY generous thing to do.
Iāve got my share of misgivings about Rep. Omar at this point, but she certainly knows how to troll Fox News effectively.
Rep. Omar, a hijab wearing Muslim woman, thanking Fox News is going to make their base very unhappy. That isā¦if Fox ever reports this.
āStart a debateā? About what, appropriate headwear? Does she also want to get back to a world where men take off their hats indoors? I mean, Iām in favor of burning all trilbys and people who call them fedoras, but I donāt think thatās an issue of national allegiance.
Another dig at Omar?
Thatās all it appears to be.
There were a lot of folks walking around last Wednesday with ashes smeared on their forehead, were they adhering to some religious law over the U.S. Constitution.
Nothing, but shouldnāt TPM be allowed to endlessly insinuate its favorite ā¦ tropes?
ā¦and here and in other recent articles TPM is squarely back into making factually innacurate statements about Omarās statements. Just provide the quotes, if you actually want to inform your readers. If your aim is to editorialize and smear, then youāre doing a great job.
"Omar has been criticized for anti-Semitism in recent weeks for suggesting that pro-Israel advocates share an āallegiance to a foreign country,ā perpetuating a widely recognized anti-Semitic trope about Jewish peopleās loyalty to Israel. "
The bolded language is innacurate. It is completely different for Omar to say as she did that some pro-Israel lobbyists are pushing for Omar to have allegiance to a foreign country. What you are saying in this quote is that Omar suggested that all pro-Israel advocates (or pro-Israel advocates in general) share an allegiance to a foreign country.
āOmar has ben criticized for anti-Semitism in recent weeks for suggesting that pro-Israel advocates share an āallegiance to a foreign country,ā perpetuating a widely recognized anti-Semitic trope about Jewish peopleās loyalty to Israel.ā
This has no place in this specific article. Shame on whoever wrote it.
āOmar has ben criticized for anti-Semitism in recent weeks for suggesting that pro-Israel advocates share an āallegiance to a foreign country,ā perpetuating a widely recognized anti-Semitic trope about Jewish peopleās loyalty to Israel.ā
ANNNDDD they are back to most egregiously dishonest version. Keep classy, TPM.
Thatās a fair question, but itās unfair to call her antisemetic for it.
God dammit I am sick of coming to TPM and seeing the same trope about what Representative Ilhan Omar said repeated over and over again. She was criticizing the policies of the Israeli government and the influence of AIPAC on American politicians. She spoke truth to power and is not in fact against the Jewish people or the state of Israel. Enough of this shit TPM. You are giving away your power as an independent news source by continuing to indulge in these mindless attacks on the Representative. Her attacks on AIPAC campaign contributions having too much effect on American politicians policy making is an attempt at a long overdue conversation of the influence all other Kochian/Exxonian PACS have on American politicians allegiance and indebtedness to them. Lets talk about Citizens United now shall we and give up on participating in the undeserved slander of Representative Ilhan Omar. Plus I find her to be adorable and a good companion for AOC in shocking the entrenched interests in the Democratic Party. A breath of fresh air blows in from the freshmen and women.
Until all the neckties are burned and banned we will never be a truly free people. Oh and the high heels also too.
