Discussion: Oliver Presents 5 Years Of Conservatives Wrongly Declaring 'The End Of Obamacare' (VIDEO)

Discussion for article #237967

It’s uncanny the similarity of language between republicans and Faux news hosts. Almost makes you think they develop their message together…

Seeing this compilation of nonsense truly reinforces how lame our media and politicians are. Also, look how much more grey POTUS has vs when ACA was signed. Poor man.

Will there ever be a Beginning of the Republican Replace Plan for Obamacare?

The doomsaying hasn’t been limited to conservatives. How many articles did TPM publish on what was going to happen when the Court killed Obamacare? Dozens. Yet, the odds were always strongly on the side of the Court not going there, as I and others pointed out many times. Perhaps we ought to spend more time on discussing things that actually happen, rather than what “might” happen.

For example, all hell is breaking loose in Greece and not a word here. Closer to home, Puerto Rico is defaulting and you wouldn’t learn that here. But something that “might” happen is worth pages.

The only POTUS who wasn’t significantly more grey by the end of two terms was St. Ronnie. I think that was one of his confirmed miracles.

Perhaps they’ve formed a secret pac?

Republicans both in Congress and at Fox display a single minded purpose to hurt people over time. It is inspirational. No matter how badly they are knocked down they just pick themselves and start all over again. It could be a musical.

What is truly stunning is the Non Fox media goes along. Somebody needs to check to see if the media isn’t suffering from advanced dementia.

That’s weird because that’s not the show we watched last night…

I’ve said this on other sites:

We get the media we ask for. Greece, to the common man, has minimal impact. Puerto Rico, maybe a little bit more impact. The media know this.

But take away the insurance coverage, or even whisper that possibility, and you have a significant impact on Americans and, more importantly, people that might actually get off their duffs to vote.

We’ve become more isolationist - anything that has minimal impact on daily life gets no coverage.

And Grecian Formula.

Greece is all over most media. My criticism is specific to TPM. The utterances of every member of the clown car is covered by TPM in great detail, but actual world events, not so much.

I have honestly seen the most Greece coverage on CNBC. The general population doesn’t watch a whole lot of that, but you may be right.

CNN, NY Times, network news. Why not even 1 story on TPM?

The resources and funding to make that a reality just might boggle your gray matter.

Yea, … Die Quickly…

Including the never ending wars…

FYI, stories about both have been up since a little after 9am (see the “World News” section on the lower right of the FP). Except for the top of the page, I think whether or not a story is featured more prominently depends on how many clicks it gets.

TPM is not a newspaper. Nor is it a newswire service. You need to go elsewhere if you want world news coverage.

I would like to see A study of how much money in taxpayer dollars has been dumped into these challenges to Obamacare. Democrats should find this number and paste it all over every news outlet there is an existence. put it right next to a large banner that says " fiscal conservatism my ass!"
