Discussion for article #234776
I hope this student gets convicted and then appeals all the way to the SCOTUS, so Chief Justice Roberts can give Americans another lecture about “post-racial America”.
Sigma Phi Epsilon. Good ol’ Sigma Phi. Good ol’ totally not racist despite the actions of a few bad apples Sigma Phi.
Steve, as much as I’m certain that Sigma Phi Epsilon deserves censure, the link is to an article about the now notorious Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Different variety of bad apple, I understand.
Sigh. Ole Miss: taking three steps forward, and two backward.
On Wednesday, thousands rallied to support the Chancellor.
The same Chancellor who got rid of Colonel Reb, and when the students wouldn’t stop chanting “The South Will Rise Again” after the marching band played a medley (Dixie was part of it) forbade the band from playing Dixie at all.
Probably received death threats for that.
Potato potahto.
Okay, seriously, you’re right. Never mind.
Hey, I’m happy for the link. My conservative in-laws have their son at SAE at Georgia, and you have no idea how much schadenfreude I experience with each new revelation.
Future GOP legislative staffer.
I agree 100% with the charge. I just hope if someone hung a rope around a Harvey Milk statue the same charge would be brought.
Okay, folks, pack it in. Austin Dave has won the internets for today. That’s absolutely hilarious!
And the confirmation of Loretta Lynch as Attorney General moves a step closer.
Assuming a statue of Harvey Milk would be in San Francisco, it wouldn’t happen. He is much beloved.
And speaking of a Lynch, when does the FBI get to the bottom of the presumed suicidal “hanging” in Mississippi?
It doesn’t happen overnight. The Alabama cop was very fast. The incident only happened at the beginning of February. But then they had video (and probably the Indian ambassador breathing down their necks), The incident at Ole Miss happened over a year ago. A proper investigation takes time (and resources).
As to the late Mr. Byrd of Mississippi, I’m going to hazard a guess that it was the family of victim he was accused of killing and for which he served 26 years in prison.
I like it when racists and cryptofascists come out. Then we can see better who they are.
Weak, disingenuous apology forthcoming with the, I now understand, explanation, soon to follow.
Besides, it was just frat boy satire.
Ok, but Tamir Rice, Garner etal get no justice? What?
Nice first step but what about incidents where there were actual murders or negligent homicide by cop?
So sez my wife.
They certainly crawled out of the woodwork in Jan of 2009.
Speaking of “crawled”…
Do these “noose hangers” and so on ever walk up to an African American person, one on one, unaccompanied, in broad daylight and try to hang a noose around HIS/HER neck?
