Discussion: Old Pals Cohen, Sater Teamed Up During Campaign To Pursue Trump Moscow Deal

We’ve been discussing this at length within TPM’s Hive. We think it highly likely that he has flipped. He’s done it before, he knows how it works, and he’s close enough to the top to expose the bigger fish. There’s also some circumstantial evidence that this is, indeed, happening.

I see. I get it.

I won’t make predictions about ultimate results but I will note that the pressure is mounting on this Congress.

Somewhere in all of that financial evidence, I’m hoping they find the one other thing besides ‘Treason’ the constitution specifically mentions as impeachable: ‘Bribery.’

“He was just doing his job”.

(Edit: Sorry, wrong one. Removed).

Also, wouldn’t this statement count against Trump?

Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.

And be rewarded mightily by Donald Trump. The love affair between Trump and Putin never ended. Trump’s never said an unkind word about Putin.

Yes. All of his utterances matter. The success of states vs. Trump on the travel ban was in part because they relied on his statements.

Yep. All tweets matter too since he’s the one who insisted they do.

They’re still Convinced Obama talking to Medvedev ( “transmit this to Vladmir” ) is the real scandal.

He is supposed to have a presser with the President of Finland later today. Most questions will likely be about Harvey and the Feds response but this may come up as well as the emails between Michael Cohen and Peskov. He may ignore the questions or call them fake news and move on.

Will Sessions go to the same place as Sater and T rump?

I sure hope so. All in communal solitary.

Is Russia an enemy of the United States given that there is no war between the two nations?

So much self-incriminating stuff there, including cover-up attempts – his speeches, interviews, tweets. The number of holes he’s dug himself is so incredibly large. He repeatedly, publicly showed strong interest in the TT in Moscow project for years which it’s turned out actually continued well into the campaign while Pee insisted “I have nothing to do with Russia, no nothing!” and Cohen attacked the Russia reporting as propaganda.

I hope @ncsteve is right about October…

I don’t know - a court would have to say.

Just like I don’t know that Contempt of Court is a 'crime against a law of the United States" for purposes of the Pardon Power.

Again, a federal court needs to tell us the answers.

And

That’s the month I’ve got too. My birthday is the 2d. I’d like to have this for my birthday present.

If this keeps up, somebody gonna need a big mop…

Mother f…k, those punishments are outdated extremes. In 45’s case, it’s death, or a few minutes pay, plus a nice extended vacation in a tropical paradise in Cuba.

Can/would Pence pardon him for treason? I’m certain Pence would try, with full support from Jeffery Beauregard Sessions III, but i’m not sure treason, regardless of the manner of the crime, is able to be pardoned.

It’s all up to House Republicans until the 2018 election puts Democrats in charge.

Yeah, that’s the long and short of it. Pee owes a LOT to Putin and his pals. He can’t (and doesn’t want to) repay the debt himself with $$$. So instead he figures he can repay it with America. Putin is pleased, and the “APR” he imposes skyrockets…

Only if Democrats start running hard. We can’t take a damn thing as given.

‪Maybe “Trump Tower - Moscow project in Moscow City” = the establishment of Little Moscow in the WH. Why else send someone at the Kremlin such a vaguely worded email about a “project” launched after Trump announced his presidential run? Besides, Trump’s real estate dealings have always appeared to serve as a front because he sucks at making deals, as do Ivanka/Yael’s husband and father-in-law.‬‬
