Wonders never cease.
Nor do political l motivations.
Now all that’s left before making popcorn is for the OK legislature to override her veto.
A Republican that shows signs of a brain!
It seems OK has wrestled the title of the Most Regressive State from all contenders. As least for this week.
ok i was wrong
Murderer.
Orig bill passed 33-12 and 69-15. Pretty much guarantees an override…
Welp, that answers that question. She does not want to be Trump’s vice-presidential candidate after all.
She recognized, correctly, that it would never be upheld by SCOTUS at the moment, so defending it was just state funds pissed away. Kind of signs of a brain, I guess, but not of a moral sense.
Whereupon the OK AG says “Jesus Christ you dumbshits, what’s next, you want me to argue in court for a posthumous pardon of Timothy McVeigh?!”
Uh oh, somebody just made the GOP ca-ca list!
Fallin said in a statement she vetoed the bill because she did not think it would have survived a constitutional legal challenge.
Does she think the lunatics who wrote and voted to pass the bill don’t know that? Of course the bill is unconstitutional. They know that, and they don’t care.
If Governor Fallin truly loved the fetus, she’d have signed the bill into law. Impeachment threats to follow…
Trump: She needs to go. There is going to be no abortion in Amerika when I am POTUS. I guarantee it.
Some maintain dignity, i.e they are not total liars.
Can’t say that I admire this right wing governor, but I can say that she made her BEST decision to date!
“…a conservative, pro-life justice…”
I’m so old, I can remember when “conservative” meant not sticking your nose in other people’s wombs.
And “pro-life” meant opposing war and the death penalty, while fighting for uninsured or starving kids.
Those were the days…
Please override her veto. Please.
Sometimes she’ll do the right thing in spite of herself.
Having her cake and eating it too.
She vetoes a bill while praising it and claiming it “doesn’t go far enough”.
Typical Republican double-speak.
Hours until the Oklahoma House overrides her veto: 3, 2, 1…
