More idiots that think that people don’t know that all those Southern Dems fled the party and are now GOP.

But why now? She didn’t skip them before.
“They had invited her to go, we had said we would look to put it on her schedule. She is not going,” Weintz said.
Got it:

There’s been a lot of GOPTP talking points lately trying to connect present day Democrats with Jim Crow and the Dixiecrats’ past racism. It’s pure projection and it’s the old Karl Rove playbook. One of the Democratic Party’s strengths is higher diversity of elected officials so attack it from its strength.
They are not fooling anybody.
Ya, the GOP is more and more about gimmicks and magic words. As tho if they say the right combo of syllables everyone outside the bubble will suddenly not think that the GOP is completely batshit crazy and embrace them as an uplifiting future.
The real reason she isn’t going? Her hood couldn’t fit over the bouffant hair she plans for that day.
Actually, they may fool quite a few people who don’t know what HAPPENED to the Dixiecrats: They ALL moved over to the Republican Party in 1965 after the Voting Rights Act was signed.
Nixon only got elected in 1968 BECAUSE of the Dixiecrats supporting him (for purely racial purposes.)
They now form the CORE of the Republican Party.
Nixon was playing the southern strategy but George Wallace was also running and took away a lot of electoral votes in the deep South. Race also helped Wallace in the north where the votes from people then described as blue collar and later Reagan Democrats hurt Humphrey. The only thing that stopped the shift was the 1976 Carter campaign but most of the southern states save Georgia went for Reagan in 1980.
Only themselves.
“Some things you may not know” about the KKK include the fact that they are in lock step with basically every mainstream conservative view.
John Fugelsang made a great point about the Civil Rights Act. Liberals (both Republican and Democrat) voted and passed the Civil Rights Act, while Conservatives (both Republican and Democrat) vehemently opposed it.
Guess where the latter party ended up?
My favorite cartoon of all time!
Yep and if I’m remembering correctly, most of the no votes were from Congressmen representing the South
Her poll numbers are in the toilet. if it weren’t for that, she’d attend.
So snubbing this one group of her supporters is supposed to make voters believe she doesn’t draw votes from racists? Puhlese!
How else can they discuss the implications of the War on White People? Never mind. I forgot about Fox News for a moment…
