Discussion: Oklahoma Gov. Orders Independent Review of Execution Procedures

Discussion for article #222238

It was known beforehand it would end badly and it did. Appointing lackeys to review this is rather pointless.

Except if the goal of the Gov (who, as someone pointed out, avidly sought out these executions) is to cover her own ass. Which it is.

So this review will be independent in the way that Chris Christie’s review of the bridge scandal was independent–and in a matter much more serious.

OK governor needs to be brought up on Federal charges for overseeing and approving cruel and unusual punishment.

And given what she just did I find the cross around her neck particularly offensive, She is no Christian!

That “like” was mostly (but not entirely) for the cross comment, I was thinking along the same lines… She’d have loved to have nailed him to a cross herself.

Independent Review…is that what the GOP will call a commission now? This woman has proven she should not have any influence over the life/death of living things in this universe.

it will take years for OK to write one paragraph that will find tht its President Obamas fault because of Benghasee and Obamacare.

This is what I get for commenting before reading. The cross hanging on the neck of the executioner is quite the juxtapose.

Time for the Justice Department to step in and do a real independent review.

This woman is so bloodthirsty, she threatened to ignore a court ordered stay. I’m sure her “independent review” will be, um, enlightening.

The state of Okla. is going to investigate their own procedures? Isn’t that like the fox investigating the hen house?

Be a damned shame if something happened to it…

Last night’s nightmare might resonate across the country. After last night just how does any state guarantee it can administer a death sentence that isn’t cruel and unusual?

“Therefore I’ve also asked the Department of Public Safety and our commissioner, Michael Thompson, to lead an independent review of the state’s execution procedures,” Fallin said. "Although I don;t know why YOU PEOPLE are demanding this. As far as I can see the Ni(CLANG!) Drugs work just like we planned.

“Now how about we bring out Christina to do a dance?”

What a fraud Fallin is. She wears that cross, touts her pro-life credentials and then when the SUPREME COURT OF OKLAHOMA tells her to wait because the drugs can’t be verified as ‘humane’ and NOW she’s whining?

Time to end this primitive, barbaric, inhumane practice.
