Tick…tick…tick, motherfuckers. Tick…tick…tick.
And if the heads of these police departments would just come right out and denounce these actions and fire some people, they would be national heroes. But they are going to keep on defending the indefensible, and they will pay dearly for that.

Next question… how many other people in that department are improperly promoted or improperly there at all?

What are the chances there was just that one?

Should be quite easy to cross-check the Sheriff’s donor list and the list of reserve deputies.

I suppose this gives the editor of the Tulsa paper the confirmation she needed that her reporters were legitimate in their original reporting. There should be many layers of shit to scrape away with who knows what else to come to light.

Well, now news stories have to say that records were falsified by a former sheriff’s deputy in Tulsa. So, it will sound like all the problems are in the past. Throw someone under the bus, and mission accomplished.

Sheriff Glantz must think that firing his doctrinal enforcer will end any further examination of the reserve deputy or himself.

Yah, right.

At least President Nixon stood by John Mitchell lol.

That’s as it should be! Law enforcement needs to be above reproach and honorable.

In this case, I think it’s pretty obvious that the head of the department IS the problem. The undersheriff was most likely doing exactly what his boss told him to do.

…and complicit, allied Prosecutors will continue to shield these Criminals in Blue from the consequences of their corrupt actions. Continuing the erosion of the public’s faith in the Law and our Institutions.

Listen… The Sheriff should only concerned that his buddy doesn’t do time (almost a given), and will try to shift all liability to the Tulsa County Sheriff Department. The worse thing that can happen to the Sheriff personally is that he does not get reelected, or maybe forced to resign if it gets too hot, but either he is already past retirement age, so he will take his pension and spend more time fishing with his buddy Bates. Yeah, the TCSD will get sued big time, but that is the taxpayers problem.

Another case of privatization of bribes and socialization of liability.

Wasn’t it nice of him to fall on his sword for you, Sheriff? I hope you at least said thank you, and saw that he was well compensated by your wingnut friends.

Well, we know one line on the “training” paperwork.

I wonder if Bates will be following the proceedings going on here - from the Bahamas.

It takes a while for any Boys Club to disband under pressures of entitlement scandals (entitlement being the whole point of any Boys Club), yet modern life with its cameras, audiotapes and paperwork can help speed it up.

Well, consider the defense they tried to roll out this weekend consisted of he wasn’t given special treatment because none of their reserve deputies are up to standards, its probably a pretty safe bet there are quite a few.
