Discussion: Okla. Natural Gas Industry Titan Dies In Car Crash Day After Being Indicted

Discussion for article #246787

Police say it’s too early to tell if the collision was intentional.

Well at least that doesn’t look remotely suspicious. The authorities might want to start watching the airports and the ports of call. Just sayin’.

Aubrey McClendon was a crook, and separately and independently from that, he was the Godfather of fracking. The statement he issued in response to the indictment yesterday was a classic non-denial denial. His activities killed hundreds if not thousands of people and ruined lives through air pollution, drinking water contamination, and even earthquakes. It’s a shame he denied the public their due of seeing him go to prison and meet justice.

Why? His body was in the crashed car.

On the one hand, those who investigate such things generally believe that quite a lot of single vehicle crashes are suicides. On the other hand, emotional distress is an under-recognized form of distracted driving.

I’m sorry, but NO businessman works to increase jobs. They work to increase their profits for the business and themselves…period. If they could run it without anyone, they would. Business owners are not good samaritans who start their businesses out of some public good.

This guy was a human wrecking ball. Did a lot of damage.

Victimless crime.

By all reports, the crash was so fiery, they initially couldn’t tell whether he was wearing a seatbelt or not. That would suggest that identifying the body could be a bit tricky.

Unlikely that it was some sort of staged death, but not utterly impossible.

perhaps a DNA test would be in order

Well, a body was in the crashed car.

Mister Neutron is probably right, but if I was the prosecutor on the case I would want a DNA test. Never hurts to be sure…

Trust, but Verify. Surely conservatives understand that, right?

If it’s hot enough, long enough, even the teeth will explode eventually. I’ll hang with the conspiracy enthusiasts for the time being.
