Discussion: Oil, Arms, Ambassador: Dems Want Harsh Response To Khashoggi Death

Appearing on ABC’s “This Week,” House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member (D-CA) joined many who’ve found the new Saudi explanation of Khashoggi’s death —

I should be the last person to mention this (I’m still ‘the king of typos’), but…

“I think this ought to be a relationship-altering event for the U.S. and Saudi Arabia,” Schiff added. “We ought to suspend military sales. We ought to suspend certain security assistance. And we ought to impose sanctions on any of those that were directly involved in this murder.”

“This really ought to be something that causes us to do a reexamination of our relationship with Saudi Arabia.”

“We ought to formally expel the Saudi ambassador from the United States until there is a completion of a third-party investigation into this kidnap, murder, and God knows what followed, that occurred in Istanbul,” Durbin said.

Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-NM) (pictured above) took another step, releasing a statement calling for “a ban on oil imports from Saudi Arabia until the highest levels of Saudi government are held accountable for their actions.”

Trump himself, on the other hand, stood somewhat alone in saying Friday that he found the most recent Saudi explanation credible.

Trump lies repeatedly, so we really don’t know whether Trump finds the explanation credible or not. What we do know is that Trump and Jared are trying mightily not to offend their good friend Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

I’d have thought September 11th would have taken care of that.

Indeed! 15 of the terrorists were Saudis, plus the big cheese planner Osama bin Laden was a member of the Saudi royal family. They’re a bad lot.

While I theek (yes, I’m hedging) that W didn’t wanna blame the entire kingdom for a few bad apples (hedging), it’s going to be interesting to see if an unified Congress can possibly deal with this.

Though they’ve done so in the past (Russia), it was neutered by a pre-Helsinki Trump dragging his heels, as he hoped s-- would be forgotten.

That segue-way didn’t work out, but it’ll right itself in the end.

Mr. Bone Saw himself knows what’s coming. The price of oil is going down and he said at a meeting something that shocked everyone present “We (Saudi Arabia) have only got 20 more years of oil, then the world will have turned to renewables.”

Hmmm, is that why he is acting like a desperado?

Isn’t it unfortunate that Trump can’t conceive of that future. Does Trump only think as far as the next rally, the next election, the next investigation?

Oh yeah, harsh consequences = stop buying their f–king oil!

Let me guess. Sen. Martin Heinrich was the first clue

Not buying their fucking oil would be ideal but until there are no more internal combustion vehicles in use we can’t. Just as futile a proposal is writing letters and proposals in the hope that someone in the admin gives a shit.

Too few remember all the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. It was Iraqis, they said, let’s go to war with them

Yeh, but like we both know, its going to be interesting to see if an united Congress is willing to put their money, where their mouth is.

Dems Want Saudis To Face Consequences For Khashoggi Death

Oh for the love of God!

Pile up the outrage condemnations from Democrats, and the 24/7 reporting by a mindless MSM,
adept at asking Trump-the-Menace, the same questions over and over again…

Despite his pathological lying, the MSM will return the next day to -
see Trump Shit/…they Ask&Grin/…he lies/…they Repeat the cycle 24/7

BTW, his amoral, christian Deplorable #base# don’t give a Fuck!! :pensive:

Shrubya also let the Saw’dis* float the notion, unchallenged, that bin Laden wasn’t Saudi Arabian while simultaneously allowing the entire fucking bin Laden clan flee the US on a fleet of luxury private jets — yet everybody else was stranded at airports across the planet due to the US No Fly Restrictions.

Priorities, you know.

BTW I wonder how that other Bush son, Prince Bandar bin Sultan al Saud, is doing?
