So this will mess with seasonal workers, those who work jobs that don’t have regularly set schedules, but the added bonus is that Medicaid recipients should have all the time they spend documenting and tracking their work hours apply to the 80 hours of work a month requirement.
So folks that are too sick to work to pay their medical bills will need to get a job?
When right-wingers demand that the poor and vulnerable have to work to get welfare…
THAT’S the time to talk about “Guaranteed Jobs” programs.
It’s hard to argue for the morality of requiring that a person have a job to get help if… there are no jobs.
In a way, a Guaranteed Jobs Program (GJP) is a way to achieve the conservative dream of requiring work for public help.
However, don’t expect the prospect of having their stated dream realized to make them support a GJP… No.
No. Instead they will see a guaranteed jobs program as a reward for sloth and, conversely, punishment as a motivational cure for joblessness.
