Pardon Mr DeWine, but EVERYONE needs the equal protection of the law.

Just to be clear, he is defending a law discriminating against gay people on the grounds that discrimination against gay people is on the decline?
So he is arguing that they need to keep the marriage ban so as to be sure to maintain a certain “proper” level of state sanctioned discrimination against gay people?
DeWine, like most Republicans, believe that this only applies to people*.
*people are defined solely as white, Christian men.
How else is he going to maintain the personal illusion that he has a bigger sexual package than gay men?
