Only a matter of time before this is used as an excuse to give the NSA more authority.

Time to consider making some information inaccessible to the internet.

My grand nephew just got his PhD in computer engineering or some such. These guys, like Willy Loman, are a dime a dozen.

I cannot believe that with all the computer knowledge in this country and all the king’s horses and all the king’s men at the NSA etc, that something like this could happen,

WTF is going on???

When a U.S. defense contractor went thru customs in Hong Kong with six laptops a few years ago, it’s hard to believe Chinese intelligence didn’t notice and copy everything he had on him. I wonder if we are seeing vastly improved Chinese hacking based on information Snowden stole and either let them steal or told them when negotiating to stay in Hong Kong.

After the Snowden revelations about government surveillance, it became more difficult for the federal government to hire talented younger people into sensitive jobs, particularly at intelligence agencies, Lesser said.

One wonders if the feds learned a different lesson from Snowden and do not want to hire “talented younger people”. The one thing that Snowden demonstrated without a doubt is that the “talented young person” you hired to protect your data is also in a very good position to steal it for strange ideological reasons; and that good pay and benefits does not guarantee loyalty or honesty.
