Russian Imperialism is apparently alive and kicking.

NATO needs to loan Ukraine a few dozen Warthogs.

I had to google Kimberly Guilfoyle.

The fact that Russia has been allowed to act with impunity can be laid directly at the weak response shown by European leaders (Merkel I’m looking at you!) who refused to follow the US lead and impose strict economic sanctions against Russia. What a joke!

Hopefully, this will settle the Ukraine mess and Kiev will come to its senses and return to being neutral instead of becoming the eastern bastion of NATO.

Yeah, this is definitely going to make them want to come around to Putin.

Anyone who did not see the land bridge to Crimea as act two, simply wasn’t paying attention.

Luschinig, you are an idiot. I know strong words, but totally deserving. In the long run Russia’s aggression is unsustainable. Notwithstanding the cackle of Russian oligarchs and nouveau rich that pollute the halls of Europe, Russia is just a third world country with a third world country “one export” economy. Europe will suffer if additional economic sanctions are impose and Russia retaliates by holding shipping of energy products. On the other hand, what will the Russians do with the oil? Drink it? Russians don’t sell oil, the economy tanks, and Putin hangs in Red square. We have seen this movie before and it does not end well for Russia. Collect your pitiful trolling fee form the FSB and save it well. Dark and cold night are coming.

Since sanctions don’t seem to upset Putin much, he presumably won’t mind if the west freezes all Russian assets and stops all Russian transactions in the international banking system. If western leaders want to inject a little humor into the situation, they can say they don’t know anything about it, and it must have been done by someone while they were on vacation.

If Ukraine runs into energy shortages this winter, maybe some of those frozen Rubles can be used to pay the higher cost of buying fuel from countries who don’t invade their neighbors.

Worth it?

I blame Canada.

So far, at least, Putin has refrained from putting in enough resources to keep the Ukranians from overrunning the “rebels.” Makes me wonder if he has decided that sanctions make it unwise to press hard enough to change the outcome, but that he has to provide himself some support against even more extreme nationalists at home.

Great idea! The Air Force would be happy to let them go–the supersonic generals have never liked close air support. The Warthogs would just devastate the “separatists.”

Actually, so far the Russian support for the terrorists, uh, separatists has been quite tepid–nothing like what Putin put into Crimea. I suspect that his heart isn’t in it–that he’s decided he’s got to let the rebels in Ukraine go down the drain (the Ukraine drain) to avoid really serious economic problems.

I figured it out as soon as I saw her face.

I agree. This is not our fight!!

I had to google her also.
